I'm proud of my children's achievements, in part, because I had a hand in them. I'm happy for my parents, but don't take pride in myself because of their achievements.

I don't think the senator said anything about either in the original quote. No USA politican advocates for enslaving others, but USA immigration policy does place some immgrants in a precarious status which can abuse the immigrant. I'm not sure what celebration of racism there is.

Europeans didn’t conquer the world. The English and, to a lesser extent, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Germans did. The Slavs didn’t do shit. The Russians got their asses handed to them by the Japanese.
