What a weird argument. You punish the group. If the group is as large as PP says, you take away privileges of all the students EXCEPT for those that are a member of the gay pride group and create some peer pressure |
Fwiw, no, my ES and MS kids haven't quite gotten the right message from sex ed at school. "Everyone should feel comfortable in their bodies." That's what they are learning - but puberty is not comfortable. A lot of people are not comfortable in their bodies or with themselves, at one time or another. |
TikTok is full of teachers who push just this, right? |
By “encourage” what you mean is “not condemn” a student who is trans. We know what you really want is to tell kids who probably already feel out of place that they are freaks and need to suppress their feelings. |
If transgenderism is as rare as the most left university studies state it is, why does it need to be taught as anything different than those studies show? |
Kids who are different for all sorts of reasons are often bullied relentlessly which leads to suicidal thoughts. |
Do you have statistics to back up your argument? Because there are plenty of statistics about the high rate of self harm among LGBTQ kids and how laws and environments suppressing them worsen this. Your thought experiment means nothing without facts to back it up. |
Do you spend any time listening to Chloe Cole and others who have been maimed permanently as teens? |
You guys are illiterate? "Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) last month proposed to the board a rule that would only allow discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in fourth through 12th grade if it is in line with state curriculum or in a health class a student can choose not to participate in." That's how the civilized world does education. Teaching is aligned with the curriculum, not with partisan propaganda. |
Sounds like the Feds are the groomers |
Yes that is why we should make sure they feel supported and not condone the bullying. Which is ehat the don’t say gay law does - it condones treating kids who feel different as freaks who need to keep silent about their difference. |
My favorite school board moments is when kids and parents bring in a book checked out from the library and begin to read/show the photos and the mic is cut because ‘they don’t’ allow that kind of stuff in school board meetings
|
So one person's experience gets to dictate everyones future? Wtf |
We want them guided back to sanity by reasonable adults, not activists. |
From a psychiatrist who deals with teens/transgenders A child/young adult who states that they always felt this way when they were young, etc - there are ALWAYS signs because kids that young cannot suppress their feelings and mannerisms. As a parent of a now transgender adult who is on the spectrum and has multiple physical issues that caused him to be relentlessly bullied in the publics, my kid never ever expressed that in mannerisms, behavior, etc. as a young kid. We have multiple medical professionals in the family and all were blindsided as well. Contrast that to another member of the family (not our nuclear) who we knew was probably gay from early childhood, just by mannerisms, etc. That classically feminine behavior could not be suppressed as a two/three year old. The only thing that surprised extended family is that he is a staunch R and a Trump supporter, out and proud. Went to many events on the WH lawn fully out and has never had any issues. Imagine that! |
