Everyone except tourist hates founding farmers. It’s rated appropriately.

FF was good when I moved here in 2008. I went in 2021 with friend visiting from TN and her friends from work. They loved it. I am not sure if food just really, really sucks where they live or if people just can’t admit the food and service is on par with a Denny’s in Ohio after paying what must seem expensive if you don’t live here and waiting 30 min past your reservation.

The FF in Foggy Bottom has never been good. We had so many terrible work events there in the early 2000s.

You must have been really drunk at those events because you weren’t at FF in the “early 2000s”. FF opened in 2008.

2008 is still the early 2000s. I didn’t work in DC before 2008 so very much aware of where I was. But go on, defend that shitty place. LOL.

No one is defending FF. You must still be drunk because your reading comprehension is a bit off.

Yep, the PP I was responding to was.

FF has never been good.

Try not to insult others when it’s you that cannot read.

Truly awful. It’s a scene and people go to be seen, but the food is mediocre at best, and the service is lackluster.

I haven’t been to FF in over fifteen years. I didn’t think it was bad. FF never claimed to be fine dining and for what it was, I thought the food was fine. Not sure how it is now?

Rasika
Cooper Hawk
District Taco

I don’t think JGilberts is exactly over rated. It meets expectations, not high ones. But it is exactly what I expect.

Rasika never lives up to the hype. Coopers Hawk is just flat out nasty and staff is terrible/rude. District taco is over priced for what you get.

Expensive, poor service, underwhelming food and drinks.

Dabney

Dabney was expensive, pretentious and underwhelming. I weep for the people who eat there because obviously they think that it is worth it.

Taco Bamba

I disagree. Great food, with fun twists consistent, inexpensive. We almost always get it to go. my gripe with the service is wait time, but it's because they are so freaking busy with customers who evidently do not consider it overrated.

The Dabney

I hated Le Diplomate the time we went.

If you live in Westover or Cherrydale and this happens to be your neighborhood sandwich and pizza joint? Well, it’s pretty amazing to have one this good! It’s probably not a place to drive a half an hour or more for. We are in Westover and love it.

People in Arlington only think it is good because they have no competition. If you had the option to go to a real Italian deli like the ones in other parts of tge country, you would realize how overpriced and overhyped the Italian Store is.

I also agree Italian Store is too expensive for the quality.

Maybe you should wonder about yourself. Have you gotten old and your tastebuds have faded?

Totally. Ridiculous. For expense account lunches only.

I was going to ask, who rates FF any higher than mediocre (which is itself generous)?

Anonymous wrote:I agree the following are over-rated:
Roses Luxury
Fiola Mare
The Italian Store
Elephant Jumps
Seasons 52
Le Diplomate - Not bad, but usually oversalted
Taco Bamba
Barley Mac
Blue Duck

I enjoy:
Tail up Goat
Rasika
Thip Khao, although some dishes are not good

I thought this was just kinda hole in wall place - not really hyped up. It's good Thai - nothing over the top. Sisters Thai belongs more on this list - good but also nothing special (other than quirky design).
