Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," Corinne Foxx wrote Friday in a note on her Instagram Stories. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!"
She added, "We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!"

She could add a photo for confirmation

Since it's a lie, not very likely. It's seriously fishy that he hasn't videod a short clip himself, so he's clearly not doing well. If he were, he could put it all to rest simply by asking for privacy himself. Or similar.

Jamie Foxx has his crap locked down. I honestly think no one knows anything. He dated Katie Holmes in basically complete secrecy for years. We will know when he decides we will know.

Agree. I saw a comment from Kevin Hart indicating he knew Foxx was improving but it was worded as if he had not actually seen him or talked to him. Could have been construed either way. Foxx has some seriously adept PR handlers, I think, and that's just fine--this is at base a private matter. But if his daughter wants to snark at "the media" she shouldn't be surprised when speculation gets going due to lack of any authentic-sounding updates.

I suspect as many of us said early in the thread, he's had a stroke or other potentially career-altering impairment, and everyone's holding off saying anything in hopes he will show improvement in these early weeks and months, which are a crucial period.

Of course, I was at first sure that Jeremy Renner would die or be left extremely impaired, and wow, look at his recovery. A very different situation and set of injuries, of course, but his transparency after his accident was helpful. He was able to speak immediately afterward, though, which helps, and he was able to speak directly to camera despite his injuries. The fact we haven't heard anything like that from Foxx is not a good sign.

I've never liked him tbh. Abuser vibes hardcore.

If it’s true at all, he was discharged to Hospice care or home palliative care.

No way does he have very long.

The man had a health emergency!

Yet he played pickleball?

Photos, or it didn’t happen.

It was a family member who merely alleged the pickle / ball thing

Don’t believe any of it.

I bet he was released from the hospital into a rehab facility post-stroke and played some version of pickleball as part of his rehab.

Is the lack of media coverage because he's washed up or because this is fake and overblown? I thought he used to be considered an A-list actor. If Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington were possibly dying, there would be a media frenzy, right? This seems like a non-story to the major outlets.

Why would you say this? I’ve been knowing of him for years sinfr ILC and he has never had anyone come out with this info. This could be very damaging. Not cool!

That was supposed to say since ILC (In Living Color)

Really? Seems like every over week I turn around to open an article with the same info just a different headline. I consider him A list.

IMHO, neither of your options is the case. The lack of coverage is because there's nothing really to cover, due to his handlers/PR people/family keeping an extremely effective lid on any news getting out. It's remarkable that there doesn't seem to have been a single leak (from, say, a medical professional or orderly or...anyone) detailing anything at all. But I think the silence means the exact opposite of "fake and overblown." If this were somehow fake (though, why would it be?) there might be "poor Jamie!" updates for sympathy, followed by photos and other posts showing him recovering and being highly inspirational...but instead, we've got crickets. Something did happen, and his people and medical team are, I think, assessing how bad it is and how to spin that when they finally have to say something public. We'll see.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Dumas said today she doubts he was actually playing pickle ball from what she hears…

TMZ is reporting that he is in a rehab center in Chicago. Looks like it was a stroke or something similar, but he recovering.

So the big business announcement was a game show in development that will come out next year? That is a very weak diversion from this health story. No one cares about a game show.

The public will remain in the dark until Jamie is ready to disclose whatever is going on with him. This is the guy that secretly dated Katie Holmes for many years. He has a top notch team, nothing gets leaked…more celebrities need to learn from him.
