I know! I’ve been following it. So sad. I’m surprised that no one has leaked any info on it.

It’s hard to say. But it was quiet for three weeks and now it’s not. It’s enough for he and his daughter to step back from filming Shazam.

Yeah, I’ve wondered a few times why nobody has posted or speculated about his mystery illness. One thing I read online suggested it could be related to past drug use. Apparently he had some pretty major side effects/flash backs from his previous hardcore drug use. In an interview he gave, he spoke about the drugs (heroin?) leaving a permanent imprint on him and it was like he feared he could be overcome by it again (mentally).

I have never heard drug use except for THC that someone laced with love boat when he was younger.

I opened the thread expecting it to be about his health and concerned there might be bad news. The way it's being handled, it may be a stroke. He is known to have high blood pressure, which can lead to stroke. Plus, the very sudden nature of the "crisis" and the fact the family's not giving details (because the time after a sudden stroke can be extremely fraught for family members) point to something like stroke, aneurism or heart attack. One article I saw this week mentioned cryptically that it was "progress" that he was conscious after three weeks--if just being conscious is considered progress, his condition must be serious. I'm not even a huge Jamie Foxx fan but I truly hope he'll survive whatever this is. He may have a very long road of ongoing therapy, though.

I’m the person who mentioned PCP above. I can’t tell from this article if they are saying that the one time is what caused him to have these psychological/anxiety issues or if he continues to relapse and thereby ending up with these issues as a result of continued drug use.

I got the impression from the article that the drug use was in the past but the flashbacks and feelings of being crazy were recurring.

It seems like the family would be more forthcoming with details if the issue was something straightforward like a stroke.

I think they would be more forthcoming if it were just a stroke. Hope he pulls through.
