Damn lots of penises. Tell us more please

Haha
The thing is I know how uncircumcised penises look like in reality ( not just Google photos) so I wanted my son to be circumcised and I am glad i did it when he was a baby.

“I didn’t want my son to have a penis that I wouldn’t want to have sex with”

Do not be angry. Not everyone has an uncircumcised penis like your son.

I don’t even have kids, and if I ever did I would leave the decision to their father. But I really wish the moms who talk about how they circumcised their sons because that’s the kind of penis they prefer to have sex with to just keep that bit of info to themselves.

Where exactly did he get his information about uncircumcised penises? He sounds misinformed.

Honestly, I’ve just asked him and he says, "Common sense," According to him now there’s some sort of daily "pull back, wash carefully underneath" routine. If that’s true, I do understand why he wouldn’t expect a young boy to diligently do that every day. We had trouble just getting our sons to use soap for more than 2 seconds by themselves when they were little.

Well at least he admits he's full of S.

Can you imagine if a man said “I don’t like the way large hanging labia look so my daughter is going to have labiaplasty—and no, we’re not going to ask her first”

Exactly.

Yes, and most of my friends who had kids around the same time did too. Outside of pregnant-mom-friend discussions at that time, I’ve never asked anyone about it or been asked. I think for most people it’s mostly a cultural thing with some health reasons thrown in. I do recall a friend telling me that her husband, who was from a country where it was uncommon, was adamant that they circumcise their son because the husband had experienced UTIs as a kid.

Man here. If there's one part of the body that we give attention to in the shower, guess what it is. That's probably the cleanest body part we have.

If it's about cleanliness, find a way to chop off the back of our ears -- we never get back there.

Exactly. By the age that the foreskin can retract (it can't when they are young) there is zero problem keeping it "clean".

No, for two reasons: 1) when I held my son i was absolutely smitten and I could not imagine doing anything that might cause pain or disconcert unless it was totally necessary and 2) i was on Medicaid and it didn’t cover circumcision.

Later (like a week later) his pediatrician said she did recommend circumcising for various reasons but I didn’t find them persuasive, personally. But I truly don’t judge what other parents decide. I know their is a bodily autonomy issue but I still just think parents are doing their best for their child and I have no business questioning that with something like circumcising.

Yes. Very traditional w/ all males in family including DH circumcised. I’m from a Catholic background, DH agnostic.

Jewish obstetrician and pediatrician; felt very supported in our decision which to be honest we never debated or questioned.

DS is now 19.

We never considered it. To us, it's mutilation and we have no religious beliefs to "justify" doing it.

What is aborting a fetus then?

Shocker.

How did you know the religions of your OB and pediatrician?

Aborting a fetus is a personal choice that many families must painstakingly make. Some make it without pain and that's OK too. What it definitely is, is none of my or your business.

Now back to Itty bitty baby penises that are perfect just the way they are.

It’s…aborting a fetus.

If you believe a fetus is a human being, then of course abortion is killing a human being which is worse than mutilation. If that is the case I suggest you not have an abortion.
