Pot meet kettle.

Guess your kid wears these to school 🤡

lol ok. My kid is full grown so IDGAF. But usually someone calling someone else trash needs self reflection because no real kind person would call another human being trash.

Oh, it’s the kind police again 🙄

DP. Go away, POS.

Awww got your feelings hurt? Not so nice now are you?

You don’t know what DP means?

Stupid POS.

Wow, someone is so nasty. Lol

Very interesting. People coming at other posters for not being nice and then calling them pieces of shit. I don’t understand people.

There are multiple people posting. I have no patience for people calling kids “trash”. At least not before I’ve had my coffee.

My sophomore wears them 3/5 days a week at Yorktown. She changes into the pajama bottoms from what she slept in -- she has multiples that have the logos of different athletic teams that she is on, one from her middle school, one from the YHS theater program -- this is not my hill to die on. She walks to school every day and didn't wear them today (28 degrees this morning.) She is certainly not the only one wearing them at this school that is typically dumped on for all the money the kids have (not mine).

It's like the big sweatpants and shirts I wore in high school with 2 pairs of socks and keds. Whatever. She gets good grades, does her chores, and is kind. Not a big deal.

High school teach here.. half the kids are wearing them at any given time. The other half are wearing crop tops that are smaller than some of my bras. Pick your poison.

I thought your schools had dress codes? This is why public education is failing.

You think if all kids wore jeans and t shirts that would cure the problems with public education???? Hahaha if only.

Obviously she’s not overly concerned with being fashionable and I’m certainly not going to micromanage what she wears - it’s her choice. But I’m just wondering if she’s the only one?

Actually that is what’s fashionable these days.

No, it’s not.

Yes, it is.

NP, and it's not so much that it's "fashionable" but it is "a thing."

Reminds me of the early 90s when a bunch of us wore men's boxer shorts to school. It wasn't flattering or really fashionable, it was just a tween/teen trend. PJ bottoms have more staying power and are also somewhat popular with adults, but yeah.

It's like... boys wearing shorts in winter, or any number of other things done to signify membership in a group. They aren't fashionable, per se, but are acceptable/popular.

It starts with the small things. Frankly, any semblance of order.

Do you have any actual evidence to suggest that wearing jeans means order and wearing pajamas does not, and that that order will improve the quality of public schools?

There are so many logical leaps here I just cannot.

I'm in LA and many of the kids are walking around in pajama bottoms. I like it because it's fun. My first-year college student is in Chicago and said it isn't a thing on her campus, so I thought it was just a local thing due to our weather, but apparently not!

Also we never let our kids leave the house in non matching, ill fitting, or dirty clothing. Now as teens they don't do this either. Parents have made fun of me for years because I was so rigid about the appropriate clothing but now as teens they know how to dress appropriately for an event without being told. Oh and yes, they picked out their own clothing since they were young but we didn't hesitate to ask them to change before leaving the house. We also insisted the proper shoes were worn as well

No pj’ s at breakfast?

I’m finding it hard to believe you’re a real person. Does your husband call you mother? Do you only have sex with the lights off? I’m so intrigued.
