Michigan GOP comes out against right to contraception

Anonymous
In a candidate debate the three men running for the GOP nomination for Attorney General of Michigan not only didn't know the landmark US Supreme Court case (Griswold v. Connecticut) declaring a right to privacy for married couples to use contraception without fear of criminal prosecution, but once they got up to speed on the topic they all support overturning that decision.

Yes, it's Mother Jones, but the article quotes each of their debate answers.

And here's the current Michigan AG on the issue:

Assume this is the GOP end game.

We said this on the abortion thread and the right wingers scoffed.

Yes, this is the end game. Wake up, people!

We are in the pre-Gilead times right now.

OP here. I was one of the scoffed at. I even tried to find that post in the abortion thread, but this is separate enough of an issue to start a new thread. I just hope women wake up and comprehend what's happening and VOTE accordingly.

Yes.

Republican women are idiots.

The whole leopard eating faces party thing comes to mind.

Where are the Republicans who said this was never the party's goal and that we were being hysterical.

Deafening silence from MAGA.

You thought you lost your freedoms with a vaccine mandate! Ha! You bedroom is now fair game. Better get those BJs in while you can, dummies.

Hard to imagine any state or government of any kind rolling back contraceptive use. This in inalienable personal bodily autonomy.

I remember the scoffing and went looking for it also. Can’t find it either. IIRC we were told that “no one is coming for your birth control.”

Oh, FFS, OP.

Not one of the candidates said anything about "overturning" the decision. They did agree it was wrongly decided because of STATES RIGHTS. That is what this is all about.
The same as Roe v Wade. STATES RIGHTS.

Yes. And, Virginia will require all women to wear long dresses, cover their arms and wear dresses up to their necklines.
I hear they may even require women to wear chastity belts when their spouses travel. And, women will no longer be able to work outside the home. Or drive. Or drink. Or vote.

Quit your fear mongering.

Right wingers, nothing. Democrats scoffed, said this is silly. As if forced birthers care about women.
