#CoronavirusOutbreak in Hubei, central China:
- 2,714 confirmed
- 100 deaths
- 2,567 hospitalized
- 47 discharged from hospitals

So 20 new deaths today. Does not include the death in Beijing reported earlier today or the number reported above from Shanghai.

Not sure where your update is from, but for all of China:

China #coronavirus infections rocket 52% since the last reading just 24 hours ago, jumping to 4193 confirmed cases from 2744.
Death toll jumps 31% to 106 from 81.
In context of SARS 2003, 8098 people infected worldwide. Death toll, 774

Source of earlier numbers was the Guardian. Earlier than you numbers, and they have probably since updated with the numbers you just gave. All of the earlier numbers we have seen were just for Wuhan--they have probably had to switch to all China numbers given the spread.

You knew is was going to be bad when they decided to build a hospital in 6 days.

And not just one pop up hospital...

The case in the Ivory Coast has been confirmed, the first in Africa. The only inhabited continent that hasn't reported a case is South America.

A large Chinese population in the DMV and a lot of them had gone back to China and came back to the DMV recently, I will avoid these places for the next three weeks during the incubation period:

- Costco
- BJ club
- Chinese restaurants
- Chinatown
- places with lot of Chinese people

At the moment, even the CDC is not sure how the coronavirus is capable of transmitting between human.

Hundreds of them traveled from NYC to Wuhan and back for holidays.

Update: UPDATE: China’s National Health Commission (NHC) issues higher number of confirmed cases: 4515 cases versus @PDChina number of 4193 an hour ago. A *65% jump* in confirmed cases in past 24 hours. Huge. Both have same upwardly-revised death toll at 106. @CBSNews

Nationalism isn't looking so bad now.

As someone you are scanning for, i prob eat at places like gastric pubs and restaurants around town and thenplaces Cava, costal flats, burger joints, pizza places, Thai, sushi etc than Chinese food. You will prob find me at wegmans whole foods or farmers market vs Costco. And I also need to pump gas so I will be touching the pumps. I do go to Walgreens and cvs. I also take Uber or Lyft when I don’t feel like driving. Does that help?

Are you saying 4000 people were in contact with the same animal?

Interesting stat in one article stated that a full 66% of monitored cases in Wuhan had actually been to the market. That's a huge number. And if there was one bat infected, others were. Probably a freaking virus-fest in there!

So you have a ton of people at ground zero, for lack of a better term. Others probably in the vicinity. So what happens when Person A gets it from ground zero, then person B gets it and then gives it to person C. How to person B and C fare? Only time will tell.
