Grown women wearing mary janes

Anonymous
That's the beauty of being a grown woman. We get to choose to wear things that ate both practical and stylish. I still miss this pair of Prada mary janes i had 20 years ago... and i was even a grown up way back then!

I like them because they stay on.

I can't understand why any grown woman would wear high heels that wreck her posture and cause ankle, tendon and calf injuries, and leave her unable to walk distances in comfort.

What shoes don’t stay on!?

Not the PP. I have low volume feet. That means my feet are narrow horizontally, not vertically. It took me years to figure out why I would just step out of any shoe that didn't have a high vamp or strap. I cannot wear loafers, ballet flats, or any sandal that doesn't have a strap across my instep. I can't even wear flip flops, the straps are too loose.

I have high arches and I can't wear flip flops, mules or anything without straps.

I feel like women or curling their toes to keep shoes on, life is too short for that bs.

They are classic, practical, and comfortable. If you had to stand on your feet all day, you would be looking at Mary Jane’s differently.

I'm getting ready to order a pair of Vans MJ's, though not the t-strap ones with heart buckles.
Love mary janes!

I love them and hate high heels. Why is it had for you to understand that people have different opinions, OP?

It's a shoe for non morons

Another fan here! I cannot wear any flat that doesn’t have a strap — my foot just slips out of them when I walk. I walk several miles a day so flats just aren’t practical without the strap.
I feel like I have learned very little in my decades on this earth but the one thing I have a deep conviction about is that one should wear comfortable shoes that fit right. If you can’t walk comfortably in the shoes you have on, nothing else makes sense.

Much more attractive on most people than ankle straps. Unless you have incredibly long lower legs those make your legs look stumpy. And I say that as someone who has exceptionally slim ankles.

Love Mary Janes! And it isn’t like there’s just one style – there are aggressively frumpy ones and really nice, dressy ones. Don’t like them, don’t buy them!

Egad, not a strap over the middle of your foot! The horror!

This right here.

+1. They're very unflattering and make legs look short and chunky.

The strap is so uncomfortable. Nope.
