Check yourself before you wreck yourself. It is very clear where all the melodrama is coming from in this thread. Round and round and round. |
Just because someone is being, in your opinion, dramatic, gives you no call to mock or make light of them, especially about rape. This world needs more kindness. My teenager talks to others with more empathy. Any house with bushes, trees, etc around it should leave an outdoor light on. It doesn't cost much. My bosses leave the porch light on and I turn it off when I arrive. My bosses before them did the same. And the ones before them. And I've never had to ask. They were safety conscious and considerate. |
She wasn't raped, she was assaulted. |
|
Might want to bone up on your reading comprehension. She posted a page or so back, her story, after you guys were done making fun. She was hit on the head and raped.
Personally, I think you're a bully, and I sure hope you're not a nanny. |
|
I think it would be beneficial for some of you to volunteer at a rape crisis center, so you know what you're actually talking about instead of talking out of your asses.
You might realize that the most damaging thing you could do to a rape survivor is to tell her that her concern for her personal safety is Dr amatic. You actually told a woman who was taped took buy a flashlight. May you never have someone force themselves on you. May God forgive you. |
*raped |
And are you familiar with what can happen in an assult? Who the hell are you, to erase and demean anyone that has been assaulted or raped? You've now joined ranks with all those politicians that are talking about "legitimate rape" and "witnesses to a rape would be a hell of a party". Sexual assault covers a lot, including molested children. When I was 9, my stepbrothers pinned me down, took my pants off and poured hot pepper onto my vulva. But hey, it was just an assult. |
OP, your story gets more and more unbelievable every time you post. Sunrise in every time zone in the US is between 6:22 and 6:52am at this time. It is not pitch black anywhere at 6:30 and the sun doesn't rise in the US at 7:36. If you can't manage to carry two bags on one arm, buy yourself a grocery cart with wheels. Between that and getting your keys out in the car and buying a flashlight you can solve your problem responsibly. Grow up and solve your problem. Self efficacy is a critical quality in an adult. If you are not a troll and a rape victim struggling with PTSD, then you should not accept jobs that trigger you. That's pretty simple to do. You are better off quitting this job than trying to make others responsible for your comfort when clearly there are options you can take yourself. |
Then why take a job that puts you in harms way? Why not do something from home over the computer or something? |
Um, since 1 in 3 women have been assaulted in some way, that's alot of women not going to work. Or shopping. Or breathing, since home invasions happen. You're a nasty troll, time for report. Yes, op can be proactive, but asking for a light is NO BIG DEAL and if you think it is, you should work on your skills of kindness. |
It's nowhere near 1 in 3 dear. |
Don't dear me. Go volunteer for a hotline or shelter and see how that changes your outlook. You have no idea how much assault is unreported. |
You are wrong. I'm in Atlanta and the sun rises here at 7:30. Look it up. It is dark at 6:30. |
I agree with everything you said. The thing that scares me is that she is responsible for children. I can just see her now pushing the stroller in the park when a perfectly normal looking man starts walking towards them and she just bails on the stroller and runs off. =( |
