I agree. 15 hours a day is INSANE. One of the bad points about being a nanny is you often don't have much of a life outside of being a nanny because you do work very long hours. That's why nannies who have been in the profession for 10-15 years choose part time positions. That is so they're able to have a partner and maybe have their own children.

I happen to work for a hi profile family and when they have work (films, tv etc) yes I have a lot of work and long hours. So call me crazy. And no I am not working for disposable income. Someone has to be with the kids while parents are working.

Oh again I am sorry that you all don't understand that just like you don't understand how I have money to play with and to pay off all my bills and debt. Guess what I have a large savings and a very large retirement fund- I will be retired by 55. I started saving and learning how to manage my money when I was in high school, when I started working. I have worked hard for everything I have and do.

Call me names all you want. Keep working for your scrapes and come here and complain when you have no money and people look down on nannies in whole.

I have been a nanny for almost 20 years and not all my jobs have been long hours. I do have a spouse and no I have no children. My spouse works long hours too with his job, but he mostly works at home. As far as children I will never have any and not by choice my body decided it didn't want children

Sometimes just the different saunas (clay, salt, ice, etc). The whirlpools. Always a nice lunch. Today I had an oil massage and face scrub, it was heaven.

People who brag about themselves or what they have or how much they have or how much better they are than everyone else usually have low self-esteems and are very insecure. You are right about that. All of that, in my opinion, is a way of getting attention. It's annoying, incessant, and these kinds of people have no appreciation for others. Very drainining to endure their foolishness. But from general observation, it seems like women who frequent spa's and beauty salons are also women who aren't ideal relationship partners. Once in a while is fine....4X a year, no problem. but those women who have to "treat" themselves every week or two...those are the women I'm talking about. I bet this girl is def single.....

PP, I'm sorry everyone has been so critical of you. I don't think you have been arrogant in any way. Please just ignore the obnoxious posters. They are jealous because they want what you have but are too lazy to work hard for it. I really admire the fact that you work such long hours and don't complain. You have every right to spend the money you have saved however you choose. Your NF is lucky to have you as you seem to have a very good attitude, unlike many on DCUM who complain constantly about every little thing.
