| This post is stupid. It's not normal to work 60 hours. OP you're tired because it's too many hours. DUHHHHH |
Ummm Miss eye roll -- if you planned it correctly you CAN. I go every Friday. It's called a budget. Sorry you can't budget wisely. What are you working for -- just paying bills?? I pay all my bills and still have money for a weekly spa trip and a bi weekly massage and dinners out every day. |
| lol, some of you nannies will have a hard time in the real world where working those kind of hours for weeks at a time is nothing unusual. |
|
I work 55 hours each week which turns into 56-57 with parents running late a lot . I am beyond burnt out , thought I could balance this job in a life and I can't .
I work go home have dinner watch one tv show and crash and do it all over again all week. Will be looking for a new job in June at the end of the school year one year of this is to much , I would love to work a 40 / 45 hour week. |
why do you do at the spa every friday? |
|
OP, I am sure you must know...A burned out Nanny is never a good idea.
These parents are insane in the membrane to have you work such insane hours. No dollar amount can be worth living w/such insanity!! I say, they hire another Nanny and you and her split the hours. |
Depends Sometimes just the different saunas (clay, salt, ice, etc). The whirlpools. Always a nice lunch. Today I had an oil massage and face scrub, it was heaven. But they do all kinds of massages and scrubs as well has hair, manis and pedis. |

Power to y'all that can work such long hours. Been doing it for almost 3years and I see the effects on my life. My social life is not as rich as I want it and I'm tired all the time. I will be leaving in June maybe earlier depending on if I find the right fit for me. Plus I'm making sure I'm a little more financially stable before I leave . I would limit my hours to 45 a week plus an extra 3 in overtime if the family asked. Life is definitely to short to be tired and I'm 29!!
To OP it sounds like they are not your normal hours so you'll definitely recover from the last 2 weeks!! |
40 hours is the norm in the "real" world |
I have had very few jobs, nannying or "real" that were limited to 40 hours. Certainly none of them were jobs where I had any desire or perspectives for advancement or perks...50 hour work weeks are much more the norm. |
| You guys are making me feel pretty bad about my situation, LOL! I work 24hrs a day 5 days a week. I have no life/work balance. I've never had a job where I was working less than 60hrs a week. I am sure my life would be dramatically different if I worked a 40hr week. I often wonder what I would do with all that extra time! |
Americans work more than anyone... |
I find your comments very arrogant. |

I realize a lot of people are going to say, "it's her own money, who cares???" But from general observation, it seems like women who frequent spa's and beauty salons are also women who aren't ideal relationship partners. Once in a while is fine....4X a year, no problem. but those women who have to "treat" themselves every week or two...those are the women I'm talking about. I bet this girl is def single.....
