Oh and even your phone is being listened by FBI, and can be hacked too.

The app was developed by a security company that sells nanny cams, among other surveillance equipment.

You can learn about it here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LhF3J44zBHw

Go ahead, keep your cameras a secret from your nanny, don't be surprised when you can't keep one for too long though...

Agree. Those camera detectors aren't that expensive either.

From where I could buy those camera detectors?

Most jobs have camera's. At my job they are clearly in the office and no one thinks twice. Assume they are there or find another job.

Why does this have to continually be said? It is NOT the same. At your job, is there only one person who knows where the cameras are? Is there only one person allowed to review the footage? Are there no protocols for viewing the footage and what actions are taken if something isn't right? If it is learned that someone is being inappropriate with the cameras, are you comfortable in knowing that said person will be severely punished? A nanny being secretly filmed by her employer has none of these protections. Her employer could put a camera anywhere, and she wouldn't know. They could do whatever they like with the footage, and she will likely never know. They could misconstrue the footage, and fire her without warning or reason. And finally even if she does find out about inappropriate use of the cameras, the justice process would be long, expensive, and even with the best of outcomes, still leaves HER the victim out of a job. Don't secretly tape your nanny. It's messed up.

Don't do anything inappropriate and you won't have anything to worry about.

That's what you gleaned from my post? You can't address any of my actual points? I gave you plenty of reason why a great nanny with half a brain might be leery of SECRET cameras. If you're not transparent, I can't trust you.

NP here. You are quite the uninformed drama queen, PP. Let's educate you.

At your job, is there only one person who knows where the cameras are?
No. There are many people who know where the cameras are at. Any of these people have access to the feed. Your point?

Is there only one person allowed to review the footage? No. There are several people who can have access to the footage. Sounds like my situation is a lot scarier than yours.

Are there no protocols for viewing the footage and what actions are taken if something isn't right? There are a few protocols, but not many. There are no actions taken "if something isn't right". The footage stands on its own. If I have an issue with it, we litigate.

If it is learned that someone is being inappropriate with the cameras, are you comfortable in knowing that said person will be severely punished? This is laughable. No one is severely punished if you don't like how they use the footage.

You really are pretty stupid, PP.

So you illustrate exactly my point with your answers (in an office setting no one person has complete control over the cameras and footage and everyone is subject to answer to someone else) and

then you call me stupid? People who need to lower themselves to name calling are typically those unable to make a sound argument. But continue displaying your "intellect" while calling me names.

The PP lost the argument. As any one who has ever been involved in debate knows, reducing your argument to name calling is the first sign you have nothing left to say. In other words, are out of the debate. So you win, OP.

The much loved drama teacher at Herndon HS just got arrested for filming the au pair in her bedroom.

Are au pair agencies legally required to perform comprehensive background checks on parents who want au pairs?

If you read the news coverage, you would know that the wife was fully aware of the camera. The news coverage does not indicate she had or made any objection at all. Using the logic of your post (without its histrionics), women are just as perverted and can’t be trusted either.

Well, well. It turns out the au pair employer is now charged with child porn.

Do any nanny agencies do background checks on the parents?

The VA Public Schools forum on this site has a long thread about the au pair employers who had a secret camera hidden in her room.

Au pairs and nannies need to be aware of parents who are illegally or secretly engaged in videotaping. You just don’t know what they might be up to. These days it’s important for parents to disclose how the videos may be used. This should be included in the contract.
