I don't care to read a lying meathead's book. But this was in The Guardian. Maybe you should comment there if it's incorrect. Chris Kyle, a US navy Seal from Texas, was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and claimed to have killed more than 255 people during his six-year military career. In his memoir, Kyle reportedly described killing as “fun”, something he “loved”; he was unwavering in his belief that everyone he shot was a “bad guy”. “I hate the damn savages,” he wrote. “I couldn’t give a flying fuck about the Iraqis.” He bragged about murdering looters during Hurricane Katrina, though that was never substantiated. |
You have NO idea what these guys go through so you can sit on your ass and shoot off at the mouth! THEY PROTECT OUR FREEDOM! Michael Moore sure as hell isn't protecting anything but you people flock to him like he is God. That is what is wrong with our country, I bet your tune will change when/if you need our WARRIORS right here in the US!! |
Now if someone could quote me the exact Chris Kyle line where he says he loves killing people.
What I read was this: “The enemy are savages and despicably evil,” and his “only regret is that I didn’t kill more.” He is correct about this. I think we can all agree terrorists are savages and despicably evil. Certainly IS fits that bill. |
I think I'd rather hear the line directly from Kyle, not from some writer. Surely if he said this, one can document the exact place he said it. |
I think you likely meant "effected," not "affected," but perhaps people are more interested in seeing movies about flawed patriots than dragging themselves to predictable exercises in hagiography. |
Here's more for you:
The money quote from the New Republic article is just as deceptive: But anyone who has read Kyle’s autobiography of the same title knows that his bravado left no room for doubt. For him, the enemy are savages and despicably evil. His only regret is that he didn’t kill more. He laments that there were rules of engagement, or ROE, which he describes as being drafted by lawyers to protect generals from politicians. He argues instead for letting warriors loose to fight wars without their hands tied behind their backs. At another point, he boasts that the unofficial ROE were pretty simple: “If you see anyone from about sixteen to sixty-five and they’re male, shoot ‘em. Kill every male you see.” This fact about killing every adult male you see is also in the film. Unlike The New Republic, though, Eastwood puts the quote in the correct context. Kyle is talking about no-go zones; areas that were officially evacuated. The legitimate strategy behind this was that only the enemy (evil savage terrorists) would remain in officially evacuated areas. http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2015/01/19/american-sniper-same-leftists-defaming-chris-kyle-as-killer-wanted-every-iraqi-dead/ |
The sad thing? These liberals know the military will protect them, despite the fact that they know liberals hate them. |
MLK and Chris are not in the same league. MLK was a great man who would be ashamed of what has become of the AA's. He had a dream, its still just that, a dream. Because if people want to have equal rights, they have to act equal, be equal. Thank includes working and doing for ones self Chris was a great man who hated evil. So he killed evil |
+1 . The movie has triggered a racist outpouring from people who watched it, totally turning me off from wanting to see it. The propaganda must have worked! |
I wish liberals had to wear a big L on their forehead so we all knew who NOT to protect. |
I'm liberal and I do not hate the men and women in the military at all. I'm related to a Colonel in the US Army who is a highly intelligent and dedicated man, and I have tremendous respect for him.
But if the way Kyle is being portrayed is at all true, then I do not care for who that man was. |
That's America, baby. Our military is voluntary. And many people who are in it also benefit from that service. Of course some do not. But, we are all free to judge them for their missteps, veteran or not. Just like I judged the strapping young man who parked in the handicapped spot to go into the ABC store a couple weeks ago. No tags on his car.. Yep, I judged him for not following the rules like everyone else. He knew no one would call him on it. It's the citizens' right to speak freely, including judgment, whether you like it or not. And it is that freedom, and others, that people blind with uber-patriotism trot out every 5 minutes. |
Obama just said in his SOTU that he planned to wage war against IS. Damn murderer.... |
Indeed it is. The question is, would you have the guts to refuse their help in a crisis? |
Except he wasn't fighting IS. And there was no terrorist threat from Iraq prior to our invasion and botched occupation. So he was mindlessly killing people whom his beloved military essentially created. The Iraq War a disgusting criminal misuse of power and I can't for the life of le understand why people who volunteer to serve go out of their way to justify it. Soldiers died for absolutely no good reason, and the war achieved nothing. We killed Saddam Hussein. Big whoop. We also created a terrorist breeding ground - which is what created this need to protect our troops. Why can't people see that this is nit black and white? Why can't you acknowledge that we cannot claim the unequivocal moral and ethical high ground here? |
