I also had to do this test after failing my 1 hur. I had an 8am appointment and could not eat after midnight the night before. I was allowed to drink water throughout the night and throughout the test...which was great because by noon I was starving but at least not dehydrated. Also, drinking water helps with the blood draws because your blood isn't too think. Good luck!
This is a great list...thank you, thank you. We are also planning to ask:

1. Average wait-time for an appointment?
2. Routine tests/procedures in the first year?
3. Where the doctor has staff privileges (ie, at what hospital(s) can he see patients)?
4. How soon after birth does s/he want to see the baby? Is it always possible to get that appointment on short notice?
5. Can we always be seen in the same office location?
6. Expectation of parents?
We are meeting with a potential pediatrician on Monday for the first time for our first child. Any questions people recommend that we ask that might not be obvious to new parents?
I felt the same way but I really encourage you to tell people only when you and your husband are ready. Everyone goes through this and your friends will understand. Plus, there can be something really special about having this as your secret for awhile longer....in just a few weeks you won't be able to keep it secret even if you want to. Congratulations and good luck!
We are meeting with a potential pediatrician -- does anyone have suggestions on important questions to ask?
I'd be curious about what you learned...we're looking for a daycare in DC (south of Woodley in NW) that accepts newborns. We've looked into Bright Horizons and Huckleberry. Are there others?
My husband and I are expecting our first child. We are looking for daycare options in Northwest DC (anywhere south of Woodley Park). This could be a commercial daycare or a daycare in someone's home. We would be looking for a daycare that accepts infants six months or older. We are new to this so any suggestions would be very welcome!
My goal is to go into labor at my office desk! I'm at 30 weeks so I may feel differently when I get closer, but for now I'm trying to get as much done so I can leave projects in good hands when I'm out.

Jobst. You'll need to get them at a pharmacy. This time of year, it's not too bad because your pants and knee-high boots cover them. I started wearing them when I hit 5 months and so far no veins (I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant).
