Questions for a pediatrician?

| We are meeting with a potential pediatrician on Monday for the first time for our first child. Any questions people recommend that we ask that might not be obvious to new parents? |

Do you have a phone line staffed with nurses to just answer questions? (if you are like me, you'll have a lot of questions, and not necessarily know when an illness is doctor-visit-worthy).
What happens if I need to call you at 2am? What hospitals do you have privileges at? (and then research the hospitals) Do you have sick and well child waiting rooms? What is your professional opinion about vaxing/non-vaxing? Do you have a lactation consultant on staff? |

Do you have a "call hour" each day so I can call with non-emergency questions?
Does your practice have any weekend hours, so I can avoid going to the emergency room for a strep test? If I call in the morning because my child is sick, will I be able to get a same-day appointment? |
