You are actually requesting a "forum" rather than a "thread". We once had a Single Moms forum which was combined into the current Special Concerns forum. It was a good forum and had a lot to offer. Unfortunately, it had very low traffic, which is why it was combined with others.

I am trying to come up with a way that we can support additional forums. At the moment, we get a lot of complaints that there are too many forums. Once we can organize things better, I am happy to revisit the idea of a forum for Separation and Divorce or Single Moms. One thing that I think kept traffic down was that single moms are simply too busy for DCUM. But, maybe now that DCUM has grown, there were be enough participants in the forum to keep traffic up.
Okay, I moved it.

THe City Council would still have Marion Barry and Harry Thomas and the capital of the free world would still have Vincent Gray as its mayor. So all in all DC would still be pretty dysfunctional. Should every city with 600,000 people be turned into a state?

You are exactly right. Any voting unit in the US that has elected a politician that does not meet your standards should lose its federal representation. Orange County California went bankrupt -- something DC has not done. Orange County should immediately lose federal voting rights. John Wayne Airport should be renamed Malcolm X Orange County Airport.

Similarly, Jefferson County, Alabama has just filed for bankruptcy. The county is full of big Republican donors. It should immediately lose its federal representation. Committees in Congress can be formed to oversee its affairs. I think Representatives from Maine, Massachusetts, and Hawaii would be good members of that committee and will have great insight on how to run the county.
According to my Twitter timeline, the FBI is in the process of searching CM Harry Thomas' house and car. Thomas has not been arrested, but presumably the search is in relation to the Federal investigation of his misuse of city funds.
Ron Paul totally decimates Newt with this ad:

It's too late. The Iowa Caucus is on January 3. There is no way that he could get organized for that in just one month (which includes Christmas). Ballot access for Missouri is already closed (Newt didn't get on, BTW).

Sorry Republicans. What you see is what you get.

Thanks. Spammers were really trying hard to post last night. Our automated systems blocked a lot, but one got through and made a lot of posts. Gone now though.

If you have DVDs that you might want to take, Google "Handbrake" (or any other ripping program) and rip the DVDs (purely for personal backup purposes of course) and load those into iTunes as well.

Of course, there hasn't been a US embassy in Iran since 1980.

It's like saying all in boundary students for Bannaker should apply and go there and it's not possible because you have to get accepted.....same with Hardy and any other specialized school.

This is not correct. First of all, Hardy was never officially a specialized school. While Pope was principal, it developed an arts and music specialization and had an application. While Pope expected inbound families to complete the application, they were automatically accepted. While I have heard inbound families say Pope discouraged them from attending the school, I have never heard of an inbound student being refused admission. You can bet that had such a thing happened, all of us would have heard of it. Moreover, all of this is moot given that after Pope was removed, the application was dropped.

Pope was removed in order to address the desires of inbound parents. Now, inbound parents have a new list of complaints. But, those have nothing to do with Hardy being specialized or having an application.

Anyhow it seems to have set a precedent maybe? There are other purely TTC questions popping up on the Expectant forum now that are more recent.

I suspect the sock puppet posts were purely advertisements. It is pretty common for someone to search for every post that mentions "x" and then post a response -- despite the fact that the most recent post on the thread is a year or more old -- recommending a person who provides "x".

That thread was started in 2008. I'm pretty sure that if acupuncture didn't help the OP with TTC, she has moved on to Plan B by now. Posters, likely including a number of sock puppets, have been keeping the thread alive with recommendations. So, I've removed the thread altogether.

Thus explaining why Klingle Road will have to be pried from the cold dead hands of some EotP residents.

There are problems at Wal-Marts all over the country. Almost all of these incidents happened at Wal-Marts:
