I'm just thinking that it's mean and small-minded and hating to spew such garbage about people who love people of their same gender. And I doubt Jeff -- who by the way does not have to allow any and all speech on this forum as he is not a state actor -- would allow threads saying things like "i don't think black people should be allowed to have the same rights as white people" etc.

There are two arguments made here on a pretty regular basis that are pet peeves for me:

1) The argument that "if a white person said (or did) something that a member of a minority group said (or did), everyone would [ do something undesirable ]"
2) The argument that "Jeff wouldn't allow ..."

First of all, not even my wife knows what I would or wouldn't allow. So, I am not sure how you have any idea. If you can find any single minority group that hasn't been upset and offended by a thread on this site, please point it out to me. I have even been offended myself by a thread about short men and another thread that was critical of the name we chose for one of our sons. I would absolutely allow a thread saying that black people should not be allowed the same rights as white people. More than likely, I would join that thread and tear a new orifice in the person who started it. But, absolutely it would be allowed.

Here is the full text. Still terrible.

The full quote:

"Life's not always fair, and I'm sorry about that, but to suggest that we take money from taxpayers and give it to certain taxpayers to use to educate their kids outside of the public school just seems to me to be [wrong]"

I am not exactly sure what is offensive about this. The fact that "life is not fair" has been one of the primary slogans of those opposed to OWS. Personally, I'd like to try to make it more fair. But, for example, Rick Santorum was recently proclaiming unfairness to be a positive characteristic of our society. Similarly, in almost any other context, giving taxpayer dollars to individuals to purchase commercial services for personal use would result in a Tea Party demonstration.

Edit: Here is Santorum's quote. Isn't this actually worse than the quote above?

"I’m not about equality of result when it comes to income inequality. There is income inequality in America. There always has been and, hopefully, and I do say that, there always will be."

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/18/opinion/blow-santorum-exalts-inequality.html

Note that the union guy's quote came in response to the questioner saying "some of these parents can't afford to take their kids out of failing schools." So, the "unfairness" to which he referred was exactly income inequality -- something Santorum hopes we will always have.

Exactly, this has been a trend among the right-wingers here for quite a while. I guess that's the Foxification of right-wing political discourse. I'd say over half of the conservative posts on here are based on made up bs like this. James O'Keefe would be proud of the editing OP.

Are you saying that Ted Kennedy was the Devil?

If so, you have taken insanity to a whole new level.

Andrew Breitbart set a very low bar for how to react to the death of a political opponent. Liberals should have no problem raising that bar.
Big Journalism reports that Andrew Brietbart passed away unexpectedly of natural causes:

Why? Because PG county is largely black? You said it. Not us. And why do white people always bring this shit up? Have you ever even BEEN to PG cty????

I'm so confused. I think it's safe to say that any human being traveling 105 mph on the Beltway should be ticketed at the
very least. I can't imagine how race enters into the equation.

Exactly. But there is always some stupid PC white person out there who wants to scream racist anytime the perpetrator happens to be black.

Given that you have no way of knowing the race of the person who made the racism allegation, I think your blanket statement is just as ignorant. Let's please return this thread to its original topic.
I've received a number of reports about this thread suggesting that it does not meet the normally high standards of DCUM. So, let me remind you that postings in this part of the site should be PG or perhaps PG-13. Those whose interests goes beyond morning drop off and extend to the length and girth of the dropper offers, are welcome to visit our explicit forum (though I warn you that several of the anonymous posters have made impressive claims about both length and girth).

Just to follow-up, those weren't the worst pictures that poster has posted. But, I removed them any way simply because I don't like the poster.
I haven't looked at that thread, but did a quick database query and there is indeed a number of posts from a homophobe poster who is active in another thread. This poster loves posting pictures and I assume the pictures are not particularly appropriate. So, I'll go check out the thread now.

I don't know if you bothered to read that article before posting the link, but it says:

"The plan is for engines from Decherd to be used in Mercedes C-Class sedans that will be built at Daimler's Tuscaloosa, Ala. plant."

This thread is about the "E-Class". The E-Class is manufactured in Bremen, Germany.

I'm posting this just for the sake of accuracy. I don't think it is a big deal where it is produced. I've been to the BMW factory in South Carolina and was very impressed. I'd have no problem selecting an American-made BMW over one manufactured in Germany.

Humm, that's strange. If any other users are experiencing this, please post here to let me know. I would suggest quitting and relaunching your browser and clearing the cache. There might be some sort of javascript causing a problem for you.

According to the article, it was actually wrong (or at least against church policy).

You can upgrade iOS at no charge. Then you will get the reminders app.
The reminders app that is part of iOS 5 does that. That's exactly what it is for. If you have an iPhone 4s, just tell Siri to remind you.
