3. Both date (or married in JD's case) women of color weirdly enough
4. Both extremely intellectual and intelligent

Having a chip on your shoulder about elites is a legitimately smart and intelligent position to take. Pretending to be working class when you have more elite credentials than even most white collar professionals is just phony. Phony Vance.

Is it legitimately smart and intelligent when you are the elites?

No it’s craven. That was my point.

Well, he is not imposing Catholicism on his wife, so I think others are safe.

I would be surprised if his children were not baptized, but, like others here, have no knowledge.

If you truly believed Catholicism was the only way to Heaven, you'd be getting her into your faith ASAP.

It would be one thing if she was Episcopalian or Lutheran. She worships completely different gods than Catholics. Multiple gods. It is completely invalid in the eyes of Rome.

Catholics do not believe non-Christians are condemned to hell.

Yale made this mess.

Kudos, Yale.

The resistance. About one of the most common religions in the world. Gimme a f ucking break. Catholics and their victim complex are so f ucking exhausting.

The real (not)question is will Trump openly condemn such racist hate against his own team or ignore it and take the weak position? If I ever saw increasingly vocal public criticism about the race of one of my key employee’s children I would defend them fervently and conspicuously.

That will be interesting to see. But I don't know how fringe these people are. If just a small fringe, I can see trump just ignoring them. There are crazies of all colors and you can't address all of them. I cannot imagine the overt racism going mainstream, even within MAGA.

Zero combat. Desk jockey.

Just like Yevgeny (Eugene) Vindman.

No, this isn’t the CV of a desk jockey. https://votevets.org/candidates/eugene-vindman

I was a “desk jockey” right alongside him. I just think trying to decipher military service to place more value on it for one person compared to another is silly. I also think letting it define someone is silly too.

If you’re using your military service to run for office, I think you should be more forthcoming about what that service entailed (to the extent allowed by law/nat sec concerns). Further, the media should absolutely be deep diving into major candidates’ service history, especially when it’s a plank of their campaign.

DP. He has been crystal clear about his duties while serving. Are you unable to use Google? Are you so ignorant to think that military service means being in combat and nothing else?

They really can't stand his story.

Story is a good word. Fiction is another. His entire life is nothing but lies, grifting, and box checking. An eager lapdog groomed from his teens.

Sure, psycho. It's all been fact-checked and verified, including by his own family members. Sorry you're so very upset that this white man had a rough upbringing. Just doesn't fit your narrative, right?

He was “groomed” from his teens? Because all the DC strivers and upper class in the making are surely telling their teens: enlist in the Marines straight out of high school.

Please, you would soil your pants if your high school senior enlisted in the Marines and would consider yourself failures. You’d fear your family would be ostracized and might even be accused of being MAGA

Yeah, military service has never been a box checking thing for creepy wannabe politician strivers. Even his mentor, the Yale Law professor Tiger mum, had a daughter do Ivy League ROTC.

So you think all the enlisted military service members are “creepy wannabe political strivers?” And Ivy ROTC is hardly the same thing as enlisting in the Marines out of high school. I cannot believe you are disparaging military service and calling it something strivers do. Most politicians today don’t serve, and don’t encourage their kids to serve. But they should. Good for those that do.

Exactly. This thread and all of the anti-military posts are making it beyond obvious what Democrats really think of those who serve. Good to know.

If he had picked Haley, you'd be outraged about that too. Plenty of opportunity there for you to mock Indian names though!

No I’d have been secretly bummed because I know that would have brought back a lot of Rs to the fold.

I don’t understand the weird comment about Indian names.

Several ahole posters have made a point to mock Indian names. Hopefully their posts were deleted.

No one is "criticizing" his service, but let's be honest, he wasn't "seeing action" which is what he implies. Obviously Americans are proud of our service members, but one seeing active duty is not the same as one being groomed or actually seeing the heat of battle.

DP. Post his exact words. We’ll wait. I’ve never read anything of the kind.

He could just replace Vance with a choice that does not have a mixed up marriage and kids with weird names. Just change VPs trump and do it quickly.[/quote]

I read somewhere that Burgum (with the "hot wife") was Trump's 1st choice but that Don Jr. and Eric intervened and pushed for Vance. I googled Mrs. Burgum and she is indeed very attractive...and probably much more to the liking of most MAGA.

So, Pete Buttigieg is a "creepy wannabe politician striver"? Ok.

Are you kidding? Of COURSE Pete was a creepy wanna politician striver curating the perfect CV. Pete and JD are one and the same. They have been obsessed with becoming a politician since their teens.

Ok, now I know you're not a serious person. Vance had no thoughts of politics at all until he was well out of high school and being mentored in law school. Nice try, though.

You are such a liar. He majored in political science at Ohio State and he sought internships with federal politicians.

And?? Two of my own kids have done the same thing - with no political aspirations of their own. Do you actually think anyone who majors in PoliSci or interns on the Hill is intent on personally running for office? How incredibly ignorant. Barack Obama majored in PoliSci, were you aware? Besides which - SO WHAT if he did have political aspirations? Bill Clinton from his autobiography:
“Sometime in my sixteenth year, I decided I wanted to be in public life as an elected official.”

The idiotic comments on this thread are so entertaining.
