Do you actually think anyone who majors in PoliSci or interns on the Hill is intent on personally running for office?  How incredibly ignorant.  Barack Obama majored in PoliSci, were you aware?  Besides which - SO WHAT if he did have political aspirations?  Bill Clinton from his autobiography:
