Yea that is odd.... thanks. MCPS websites says:

Diane Morris

Acting Chief of School Support and Well-Being

From MCPS Spokesperson:
"Ms. Morris was placed on administrative leave previously and previously communicated to appropriate staff. This note addresses other personnel actions."

All these people knew about Beidleman allegations and not one told McKnight? LOL

She already knew or she wouldn't have approved his promotion which was obviously aimed at placating his victims (didn't work).

Apparently she was kept in the dark. I mean, the previous two admins must've been aware or buried it.

Sounds like McKnight is holding the people who allowed this to slide to account.

Dear Colleagues:

I am writing to provide you an update regarding personnel changes in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). Dr. Patrick Murphy, deputy superintendent, is no longer employed by the district. I want to thank Dr. Murphy for his service to MCPS and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Within the Office of School Support and Well-Being (OSSWB), Dr. Donna Redmond Jones and Dr. Eugenia (Jeanie) Dawson are currently on leave. To minimize any disruptions, Dr. Peter Moran, associate superintendent, and Mr. David Adams, acting associate superintendent, will be providing supervision to the schools and other staff under Dr. Redmond-Jones and Dr. Dawson in the days ahead. They will follow up with additional details tomorrow, October 12, 2023.

I recognize that leadership transitions may be challenging, and we will continue to update you on any additional staffing changes.

In addition, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Brian Stockton, chief of staff, with any questions at Brian_S_Stockton@mcpsmd.org.

Thank you for your commitment to our staff, students, and communities.

Sincerely,

Monifa B. McKnight
Superintendent of Schools

So he’s taking the fall.

+1. He is relatively new, was not in their little clique. Looks to me like he’s taking the fall, the others are being placed on leave and will have hands slapped. That’s my take.

Jones is the associate superintendent over Paint Branch, responsible for filling the principal vacancy there.
Dawson is the director over Farquhar, was Beidleman's direct supervisor.
Both Jones and Dawson report up to Morris, acting chief, who reports to Murphy, deputy superintendent, who reports to McKnight.

Thank you. This is helpful. Sounds like Monifa really cleaned house. GOOD ON HER.

See, pro-MCPS troll, I do give Monifa credit where it is due. This kind of decisive, significant action is what is needed. It sets the tone that failure at this level of leadership is not ok. They've been made an example of.

Even if she didn't, cleaning house this much will buy her more time. It's on her to use this get out of jail pass to not mess up again.

There's no way she knew because she'd have never allowed that promotion to go through.

She is handpicking scapegoats. If she was really cleaning house then Walker wouldn’t have gotten promoted

Pressure works. Silvestre folded to public and council criticism. Good.

Then she is grossly incompetent because she promoted someone whose staff consistently rated him very poorly. Those survey results are publicly available and therefore available to McKnight at the time of his promotion.

Or a good manager who delegates to her subordinates.
