"Prior to the promotion, [REDACTED] was generally aware that there were concerns about [REDACTED] conduct "swirling around" but [REDACTED] was apparently not specifically aware of the pending investigation. [REDACTED] did not specifically remember if [REDACTED] informed [REDACTED] about the investigation prior to the promotion. [REDACTED] did not take any action to inquire about details regarding what concerns were "swirling around" [REDACTED] prior to [REDACTED] [REDACTED] to promote [REDACTED]."

Her defense is her own incompetence? As a leader of you hear about something important “swirling around”, your job is to follow up. Not exercising due care is not a defense.

Plausible deniability may work for politicians, but it’s not an excuse that the leader of an organization gets to make. At least it’s an excuse that a leader of an organization should not get to make if there were appropriate governance and accountability mechanisms. It’s honestly scary how unprofessional these people are, but they get our kids and an unlimited multi-billion dollar budget.

Agreed. It's mind boggling how prevalent the unprofessionalism and incompetence are and how TOLERATED it is. I've had more than one MCPS employee apologize for embarrassing flubs committed by another MCPS employee, and so often, they and their colleagues know and are aware of this problematic employee but are helpless to do anything about said employee other than apologize. The system seems to lack a mechanism for getting rid of poor performers.

It seemed to work great for Reagan. He was hazy on Iran Contra and pretty much everything else that went on while he was in office and is still beloved by his party.

Dawson is the director over Farquhar, was Beidleman's direct supervisor.
Both Jones and Dawson report up to Morris, acting chief, who reports to Murphy, deputy superintendent, who reports to McKnight.
