What food do you eat that makes you feel like you are taking care of you?

Not so much an indulgence. More, what's a healthy food that feels like nourishment, like you're doing something good for yourself?

Usually a Sweetgreen salad.

I cook and eat pretty healthy. But they are big bowls of greens that I consciously decide to pay a lot for when I could otherwise make something similar at home for must less, so it feels calculated.

Lentils, raw vegetables, kale. A big salad with healthy dressing (no creamy kinds).

Chocolate. It relaxes me, literally.

Also lentils, spinach, broccoli, oats. I love all those things.

I have a tendency to anemia, and all those things have iron.

A smoothie crammed with only good things.

Leftover dinner made into a soup. I just take whatever leftover meat I have, throw it in a pot with a bunch of broth, and whatever veggies I have on hand, and play around with my fresh herbs from my garden or windowsill. Freeze half. Super filling and I feel great that I use up my leftovers and random veggies and don’t waste them.

Miso.

I have digestive issues related to autoimmune disease and cancer. Miso is something that I can almost always handle. If my belly is not too sensitive, I can do a couple spoonfuls of rice and a poached egg. Otherwise, it’s just a warm bowl of soothing broth.

This sounds amazing, esp with the poached egg.

Me too. I have one every day after workout. It’s almost a whole days worth of vegetables and fruits so anything I eat for rest of the day is bonus. It has lots of protein and keeps me full for a long time.

Oatmeal every morning with just a few chopped pecans. No sugar.

Same- i make one nearly every morning. Spinach, frozen cherries, frozen blueberries, 1/2 banana, blob of peanut butter and a teaspoon of chia seeds blended with very cold water. It makes me feel hydrated, satiated and light. It also goes right through me in a good way, and keeps me regular! I recently started adding collagen powder and inulin powder to it. Not sure that I really see a difference yet...

I also stay full for a minimum of 3-4 hours. I drink this after my workout around 9am and don't even begin to think about lunch until 12.
