Exactly this. Sometimes I mix hot peppers and spinach into my eggs. Sometimes I add a slice of whole grain sourdough. One of my greatest DCUM-learned hacks is eggs + avo + hot sauce for breakfast. It tastes good and is so satisfying. |
I make something very similar but no celery and it has shredded beets, plus a spoonful of sugar and a splash of vinegar. It's an old Borscht recipe. Swirl a little sour cream in and top with chopped dill and/or parsley. So good, sweet, tangy, earthy, healthy. |

Carrot, beet, orange, ginger juice.
But oh cleaning the juicer, ugh. |

Huh what's the benefit of black salt and lemon juice? |
Taste explosion. Just a tiny bit to marry all flavors together. Lancaster County Amish Market sells bottles of freshly squeezed orange juice. Add a pinch of black salt and it is elevated to another level. This shopping recommendation is for people who do not want to clean the juicer. With mixed fruit juice - orange, pomegranate, pineapple, mango, guava, apples...add just a bit of lemon juice and black salt and it is outstanding. |
BTW - Black salt is not to be confused with Himalayan Pink Salt. It is just called Black Salt (Kala Namak). It is also highly mineralized land salt so it has a lot of trace minerals and trace amounts of iodine. Lower sodium content so you can substitute for normal salt if your BP is high. A very addictive umami taste. Goes well with fresh fruits and veggies. |
| Adding to the shopping list! |
Yeah, I returned my juicer because of this. I blend smoothies every day instead. |
| To all the lentil lovers, please share your soup or salad recipes! I have one soup recipe that I like a lot but I need some more ideas. https://cookieandkate.com/best-lentil-soup-recipe/ |

For the PP, I LOVE lentils.
In general, I boil a pot of french green lentils with some dried herbs and chicken stock, then drain them and keep them in a big container in the refrigerator. From there, you can do tons with them... toss in salads, mix with a whole grain for a side, serve with eggs... But if you want an actual recipe, this is my ultimate nourishing comfort food. It is fantastic on its own or served over brown rice. If you don't like really cooked spinach, just leave that out when you cook and add some raw baby spinach when you heat leftovers. https://indiancookingdecoded.wordpress.com/2017/02/08/whole-green-lentils-with-spinach-and-ginger/ I make that with french greens as well. |
