Haha, no. Don't be a chump. No way is the kid silently praying there.

+1 Nasty kids making Tomahawk gestures. I hope the colleges they’re applying to see these videos and realize they’re toxic kids.

No tomahawk motions. You are lying because that’s all you have. There’s no video of the kids swearing, being racist, or anything negative or bigoted.

There’s plenty of video of both the black and Indian men being bigoted, cursing, etc.

The tomahawk chop is not apparent except in the dark corners of you mind.

Silently prayerful. Lol.

No video evidence of a tomahawk chop dum dum.

Just liberals desperate to find anything remotely racist. No build the wall chants, either. Only black men sluring gays and native men sluring kids and using their crappy lives to attack children.

The kid said he was being silently prayerful. He's a liar.

And that’s how God tells us to pray. To not make a show of it. Not to beat out own drum.

I don’t buy his BS explanation that he was trying to diffuse a situation and saying a silent prayer. I think those teenagers are being assholes and extremely disrespectful. But as I’ve been watching more and more videos I reluctantly admit to myself that elder Nathan was not entirely innocent here. He approached the crowd and literally was a centimeter or two away from this kids face while beating the drum. If someone were to do that to me they would be on the receiving end of a whole lot more than just a smirk. I also don’t think that beating a drum in his face was a great idea and certainly wasn’t diffusing anything.

However the larger story and overall mocking that I feel was coming from those boys still disturbs me greatly. I think other kids behaved worse than this kid and it’s not that I wish they are identified but I think the focus should be greater and all of those boys need to take a hard look at them selves and hopefully it’s not too late for them to change their hearts.

He could only get a job in this industry (law enforcement) due to blatant discriminatory practices of the ruling class. Do I wear that like a chip on my shoulder like the Native American Elder and the Black Israelite's did on Friday... NO!

I’m the descendant of Irish Catholic immigrants who were discriminated against. They settled in the Boston area and I grew up surrounded by the descendants of Irish Catholic immigrants. Your post shows a lack of knowledge about how many Irish Catholic immigrants made their way up by gaining a foothold in occupatiins and then using bigotry, discrimination, and racism to deny jobs to black people and Chinese immigrants. Their solution to deal with discrimination against themselves by discriminating against others. While some of the best people I’ve known in my life were Irish immigrants and the descendants if those immigrants, some of the worst racist and bigotted people I have ever encountered were the descendants of Irish immigrants to the US. I have Irish American cops in my family. They speak plainly when they think they are in “safe” company. Some of them are good cops and some of them are hateful.

Finally, I am not condoning what the Black Israelites were saying, but before you get all high and mighty about how your grandfather was so much better know your history. Your grandfather doesn’t need to have a chip because Irish Americans were eventually able to pass as white and assimilate. (I say that deliberately because at one point they were viewed as a different race by the English). Now they don’t face much if any discrimination so why would you have a chip on your shoulder? Native Americans are still discriminated against and the vast majority of Americans do not know the true history of what our hovernment has done to them in the past and how things still are. Same with black people. The vast majority of white Americans do not know the history of slavery in America, the rise of Jim Crow, how the US government instituted discriminatory housing policies post WW II to maintain segregation that benefitted white people (even though white people were not asking them to do so). Take some time to question the history you have been taught. Ask yourself whose voice are you hearing. Whose voice or story are you not hearing? Maybe go study Irish history and the famine and the callous, inhumane way the English treated the Irish. The English exported crops while the Irish were starving to death. Study your own family’s history better and maybe you can gain some perspective and empathy.

In fact, they might rethink all of their political activism. Other churches should do the same. It's fine to have moral positions, but this kind of activism is not in the interest of the either the church or the government. Maybe they are starting to get it.

Area poster here. Yes, this is why I refuse to send my kid to Catholic HS, especially around here. They already had my grade schooler praying the rosary for life at school last week - totally not cool IMO since he is very young amnd rightfully has no opinions - informed or otherwise - on reproductive issues. Nor does the school teach a consistent life ethic curriculum. I have to do that at home and will be keeping my kid home from now on when they do these kind of politically minded stunts during school hours.

So you send your kid to Catholic school and are surprised the schools are pro life?

Of course not. I am not stupid, thank you very much. But I object to have 5yo pray the rosary over abortion. Teaching the theology does not equal political indoctrination of kids at this age. We deal with it at home, where it belongs.

What's preached at school is practiced at home. If you send your child to a Catholic school, expect your child to be "groomed." It's not political indoctrination in their eyes; it's a belief that life begins in the womb.

That's what public schools are for - the masses.

-former Catholic with a Catholic school education - While I may not agree with the church, it's a person's right to pay for a Catholic education and it's a school's right to also preach and put into practice the doctrine.

So disgusting that a RELIGION is grooming and exploiting kids for political purposes.

this b/c you can't read

Or you're being obnoxious.

What’s confusing? Catholics are systematically exploiting kids for political positions.

I'm not the one who's confused. I can clearly see how a religious doctrine would shape one's views. If you RAISE a child in a faith, you practice what is preached. Any religion is a BELIEF system. Abortion goes against God's will b/c an unborn baby has a soul, according to Catholicism; therefore, this belief is taught to the children. So these children share their belief - passed down to them by family, friends, schools, etc. - in a vocal manner by protesting.

In their eyes they are NOT being exploited.

I'm not religious; I've mentioned that upthread.

Are you religious, PP? b/c if you are and if you bring your children to services, you're clearly exploiting your children, right? You're filling their heads with beliefs that can indeed be political: no premarital sex, anti-homosexuality, anti-abortion. And let's not forget the "lesser" beliefs: anti-pork, no meat on Fridays, Halal, Kosher, yada yada yada.

I've said this before - that there will never be separation btw church and state until all religious beliefs disappear, as beliefs shape our views and dictate how we live our lives.

So........don’t get an abortion. Encourage your kids not to get an abortion.

BUT DON’T PUSH YOUR BELIEFS ON OTHERS.

Don’t insert yourself into other womens’ uteruses.
Mind your own uterus.

“March for Life” is a tool for pushing your political agenda. Disgusting that you include your CHILDREN in political manipulation.

This is a pretty ironic statement coming from someone who is so adamant about her pro-choice views.
I hope you are not telling YOUR children that having an abortion isn't a sin. Because that would be pushing your beliefs on others.

Catholic here. I realized that the Catholic Church’s position on abortion wasn’t really about a sacred belief in the sanctity of life when they systematically failed to care for children across the world who were being sexually and physically abused throughout the world by priests and nuns. If you are really prolife you act to protect the born and living, not just the unborn. When it is clear to me that the church chose power over protecting vulnerable children, you’ll have to excuse me if my stomach churns at their using children for political purposes at “prolife” marches.

Someone who calls people “dum dum” and misspells slurring on an anonymous forum isn’t the most reliable source of info.

None of us are genius. Were you present? I wasn’t. None of us has first hand knowledge.

Video doesn’t lie. No boy was caught on video doing anything racist or bigoted like the black and native men were.

Bullshit. The boy (and several others) was plainly mocking and ridiculing the native american man. This is a fact. In the unlikely event that the boy applies to college, I predict only Liberty University will accept him.

The Native American protestors had drums and were accompanied by at least one person with a camera.

Anonymous wrote:I think the boys were being punks, I'm ambivalent about the Native American drummer, and I think the Black Israelites are jerks.

All that said, the facts of this matter are almost beside the point. It's clearly a vessel for everyone to put their biases into and use to club the other side over the head with. Ironically, if the interaction had more substance to it, it would get less attention because that would interfere with our ability to project our emotions onto it and use it for a proxy war with the Other Side.

The boys are (wait for it) boys. Teenagers. The ADULTS were the Black men and the N.A. men and they deliberately provoked the teens, probably because of the hats. There's no other way to see it - the adults should have acted like adults. They, however, are liberal activists which explains the lack of good judgement.

It doesn’t matter what I teach my children in my home or what you teach your kids in your home. I don’t bus my kids around the country and promise them extra-credit at school if they make a political statement trying to take away the rights of others.

Your beliefs are fine in your home. Once you start pushing them into mine it’s politics. You’re exploiting your kids for politics.

And, for the record, I do go to great efforts to present facts to my kids and let them form their own opinions. I’m sure I am a strong influence on their opinions but I try to have them decide for themselves.

You guys already hate each other for good and sufficient reasons. Even if you were to discover The Real Truth about this situation, is that going to move the needle on your opinion about anything? Change your life in any substantial way?

Or is this just a particularly unsatisfying form of masturbation?

The full video needs to be started at 50 min in, not 112. These kids were obnoxious and apparently have the worse chaperones on the planet. WTH. They should not have been allowed to get in to a big conflict with the black hebrew israelites to begin with. You can clearly see the drummer coming in to calm everything down, and he does calm it all. Then the kids swarm him.

The school is lucky they didn't end up with worse news coverage. Holy bad judgement, batman.

https://youtu.be/UQyBHTTqb38

This school is stupid to send moronic chaperones with a bunch of kids who have bad judgement anyway.
