I'm sorry for your experience but why do I think there may be a little bit more to the story? And your experience non-withstanding, you still do not have the right to tell others what to do, although you certainly have the right to express your opinion.

No, my mom was arrested for drunk driving. I don't know if there is a gigantic difference (obviously, I think drunk driving is far more dangerous, but back in the day it elicited the same no-big-deal eye rolling). The point was that my mother's improvident, selfish behavior ended up leaving a scar on three kids. You may never get busted for smoking pot, but given that's it's illegal, why the hell not do something else? That's simple cost-benefit analysis.

And as for not having the right to tell others what to do, this whole FORUM is people (mostly uninformed, opinionated, self-righteous people) telling other people what to do.

You post is certainly proof of that.

It's a confession thread, not a tell-other-people-whom-I've-never-met-what-to-do thread. If you have nothing to confess, what the hell are you doing around here? Shouldn't you be out attending a pro-life rally or trying to get a book banned somewhere?

Well, for one thing I'm pro-choice. I'm looking at something not IMMORAL but something ILLEGAL. And as small as the risk may be of getting caught and prosecuted, I simply fail to see why a couple of good belts of scotch cannot accomplish the same thing.

I stand by my statement: Grow the hell up.

And I confess that I invade confession threads and tell people I don't know that they are acting like IDIOTS just so that they can feel young and cool again, when they are not young and cool, they have fricken children to raise, and they should think about what they would have to say to their children and the parents at their precious independent schools when they are prosecuted for possession.

Why are you pro-choice, just out of curiousity?

Were they really ever cool, not just the loser pot-heads? On top of that, they are now old!

I confess I wish you guys would just start a separate pot thread.

Someone already did-it's called the telling-other-people-you-don't-know-what-to-do thread or something like that.

I got Facebook just to keep in touch with my exboyfriends, they are around the world and I love this!

Would I be terrible for running off and getting a suite at the Four Seasons just to get some time away?

not terrible at all. that kind of break is good for the soul.

God don't I wish I had the money to do just that-and I don't even have children.

I confess that I am jealous of the Beauvoir moms.

I confess I have no idea what people are referring to when they say 'Beauvoir Moms'.

I confess that, upon staying home w/ my kids, I apparently miss the regular contact with other men that I had at work and they harmless, playful flirting that made work fun at times. It has gotten so bad that I have developed a crush on the Steve Songs guy from PBS Kids, no joke.

Ok, here is the list that I've thought of off the top of my head.

I am not a mom yet but I visit DCUM way too much.
I am judgmental about evangelicals, rabid pro-lifers, and the anti gay marriage lot.
I am really uncomfortable around some of my husband's family because, while not evangelical, they harbor the other attitudes.
I have lesbian fantasies but have never felt the spark of attraction for another "live" woman.
My husband knows that I have the fantasies and thinks its cool.

I had a gf once who told me she fantasized about being with another woman. I thought she meant INSTEAD OF with me, and I quashed it. In retrospect, I think she meant AS WELL AS with me, in a threesome, and I regret to this day that I didn't suggest it.
