source? I know some are leaving, but I doubt hordes are.

It is hordes.

We have been invaded by a medium sized country. Hordes leaving, even if it were true, doesn’t cut it.

+1. If the jobs dry up, they'll stop coming. If there's an immediate, severe consequence for the employers, they'll stop hiring undocumented workers.

We need to have stiff penalties for hiring illegal immigrants AND make it illegal for them to enroll in our schools AND prevent all services for them AND immediately deport any and all illegals in prisons or other institutions AND hunt down and deport all the rest. All of it.

SCOTUS has already ruled that you cannot prevent children from attending primary schools based on their legal status. Of course we know that SCOTUS no longer believes in stare decisis, so I guess it’s now time to challenge that original ruling to see where the current court comes down.

Is this because of the constitution or does it only require simple majority? In any case, we need to take it to congress and see who votes that we should educate all these people for free. The reason Trump won is because the public doesn’t want us supporting illegal immigrants. So let’s see which representatives are dumb enough to vote against the clear will of the people.

I voted for him and have no problem with H1 visas. Legal, well-educated immigrants make this country great. They don't require any financial support and they contribute immeasurably. ILLEGAL immigrants are the focus here, especially those with criminal records or who were due to be deported already but haven't gone.

You should research which country sends the most ppl on this visa and how they lie on resumes and hire their own.

Remember The Wall, you know, the one Mexico was going to pay for??
It was built with gaps in it because ICE doesn't want people climbing over it and falling off.
The Wall was so flimsy that migrants cut holes in it with sawzalls.
The Wall was an utter, complete, total failure.
You notice Mumpsy never mentioned The Wall as a campaign issue.
The "Mass Deportation" is another pile of b.s. and bluster. They'll do something, build some horrendous "camps" and it will get mired in courts and in states' refusal to cooperate, and there will be news stories back and forth, and eventually it will all just fizzle out after tens of millions of our hard-earned tax dollars have lined the pockets of Mumpsy cronies and corrupt contractors.

Exactly.
And millions of those who technically came legally (but in reality they exploited the asylum and TPS loopholes) will get to stay, burdening schools, roads, public benefit agencies, heck, even ESL courses

How come you don’t know most of them came under false asylum pretense so not technically illegal? That’s what makes it so hard to kick them out

Been at an airport the same day you posted, no self deporters in sight. It was very quiet in fact, surprisingly so.

I'll cheer when the border is completely secured, our asylum protocols are reformed, and criminals here without legal status are deported. I have an open mind and open heart to accept those that are already here without legal status and are only here seeking a better life as long as the flow of undocumented people is completely stopped going forward.

Kind of unfair, isn’t it? If you came in yesterday, for no good reason, you get everything, but tomorrow is the cut off? How about instead, if you have been here for 10 years without any legal problems, or are married to a U.S. citizen for 5, or similar ?

Not that any of this will happen…

Nothing in this is fair. The best we can do is prioritize stopping the bleeding by completely securing the border and reforming asylum protocols. Deportation on any large scale would be impractical, nearly impossible, and inhumane.

We had 8 million come in the last 4 years; shouldn’t be that hard to remove them.

You cannot remove them without due process, meaning: a removal hearing before an IJ, an appeal to the BIA, and then a petition for review before a federal court.

Then you need to obtain travel documents (ie - their passport from their home country, or other permission to re-enter). Many countries don’t want their people back, especially criminals.

It’s a ridiculously complicated process and only congress can meaningfully alter the process.

Securing the border is far easier. Next would be to incentivize unlawful immigrants to leave in their own, such as restricting benefits.

He'll be plowing and burning right thru that bureaucratic mess.

"You can't....."

Wanna bet?

+1 I'm waiting for the ^PP to cite their source. Some are self deporting, but most aren't.

Why do you suppose Trump hasn't brought this up? Seriously think about that.

The US Code is very long. It can be played both ways.

If anyone gets in our way, fire them, demote them or relocate their job to Alaska.

You democrats started this, we will finish it.

Since when does our government care about holding businesses esp big corporations (like Purdue, etc) accountable? Dream on.

PP. They don't. That's why there will be no mass deportation. Everyone will cheer when a handful of small businesses have to shut down because they were hiring undocumented workers and got caught, and then go right back to patronizing big chain restaurants and hotels and living in HOA neighborhoods that contract with landscaping, construction, and snow removal companies that do the exact same thing.

Yup. 100%. It must be addressed at all levels. Completely disincentived.

Glad to see you are not a Christian.

Let me guess, you’re Jewish.

? if you really think this would work, why didn't Trump do it last time? Why doesn't he say he's going to do this now? I think you will be very disillusioned with Mump. They have already stated that they support expanding H1 visas. What's next? Mump will want to give green cards to every foreign student here. Oh, wait, Trump already said he wanted to do that.

DP...I'm an atheist, but while I don't believe in a supernatural being, I do believe that the Bible contains many relevant points such as Zechariah 7:10 and Deuteronomy 27:19.
