One state with Jews gone, it sounds like?

Who has advocated for Jews to be “gone”? Please quote specific posts if you’re going to accuse posters of advocating for another Jewish genocide. That’s an incredibly inflammatory (and from what I can tell, false) accusation.

What I have advocated on this thread is for Israel to temper its war against Hamas in a way that it’s not indiscriminately killing, starving, and withholding lifesaving necessities from the two million civilians trapped in Gaza. They are not reasonable or acceptable collateral damage.

Ultimately I’m in favor of a two-state solution with reasonable governments in both Israel and Palestine, or (more unlikely given the historical context and animosity between the two groups) an integrated state in which all citizens are treated equally and have full rights.

How does an integrated state work? What happens if Palestinians get a majority in the Knesset and recognize a right to return including property rights for those disposed when they fled?

You mean…what if a democratically elected government passed laws to right historic wrongs? The U.S. has done it on a number of occasions without destroying our democracy. The Civil Rights Act, reparations for Japanese-Americans…I don’t think it’s a ridiculous idea for Israel, already a pluralistic democracy, to be…a pluralistic democracy.

And if the majority want a muslim theocracy? A Palestinian majority Knesset would not be like reparations to Japanese internees, it would be like congress voting to give native Americans back all of their land without compensation. All of those refugees in Jordan who still have house keys- do you think Palestinians would even think twice about kicking out the current occupants and giving their property back?

Palestinians, Lebanese, and Levantine Arabs traditionally aren’t theocratic like say Saudis or Yemenis because they’re multi faith people . They aren’t going to vote for a theocracy in Israel anymore than American Muslims in Dearborn would vote for sharia law because they don’t even have it in their own territory now. Palestinians know they have a large secular and large Christian population amongst them so why would they vote for theocracy in a freaking Israeli Congress?

Hamas won the last time they had popular elections. Fatah knows it would be even worse if they ever allowed another vote

Hamas won due to 1. support by Israel and 2. the Palestinians were tired of the corruption of the communist PLO -who were telling them money isn’t important , it’s a capitalist structure while they were pocketing billions in Swiss accounts and Palestinian kids had nothing but stones to fight back Israeli aggression. Hamas was like a shiny new toy to them, much like Trump to Americans promising hatred and bringing “glory days” back.

In my estimation , Gazan youngsters could benefit from re-education in Israel. Some of those kids have probably never heard of the Holocaust or even know why Israelis are there in the first place. We know Hamas doesn’t allow that in their textbooks . Bombing them makes Hamas recruitment stronger

That class sounds fun. Sorry we had to steal your family homestead in Jaffa and send your family to a refugee camp for the past 70 years, but Jews needed it because europeans tried to kill them, and being stateless isn't really so bad when you think about it. I'm sure it will go great.

Yep he is done. He will be lucky to win New York. What a disaster for this country.

At this rate he is gonna lose Virginia as well, so many people here upset at his involvement in two wars and both are a S&$! show. Now, they are discussing $100 billion in aid to Ukraine and Israel, American taxpayers have become slaves to outside nations and our politicians.

The majority of Americans think we aren't doing enough to support Israel.

When we send billions in aid and our kids to fight this war that support will evaporate very quickly.

It’s not supposed to be fun to learn about the Holocaust period just like I am sure it isn’t fun for black kids to learn about slavery and Jim Crow by white teachers.

But you know what? Kids are more mature and reasonable than adults and it’s important they learn history no matter how ugly and uncomfortable it makes the victor

No. American are not stupid. They have seen enough of the BS. There is a difference between sympathy after a terrorist attacking and supporting state sponsored terrorism with no end in sight. The majority of Americans could care less if there is a Jewish or Palestinian state/s. They do not wake up and think what can I do today that will guarantee a Jewish or Palestinian state/s.

Who? Jewish Americans and Governor Desantis ?

The majority of Americans are tired of money going to Ukraine and to Israel and everywhere else. Our tax dollars are being squandered on foolish wars and foreign aid overseas to countries that mismanage it .

I read on WaPo that there are an estimated 500-600 American citizens stuck in Gaza who want to leave and can’t get out. Israel won’t let them out through their border and neither will Egypt. Their relatives were expecting Biden to negotiate with Israel safe passage but apparently when he didn’t mention anything re it as he boarded Air Force One or in any press release.

Yes and it is getting exhausting. We work to give back 50% in taxes to fund never-ending wars.

No the majority of America does not think that. You should know by now that those polls are worthless. Who are they polling? How are they polling? Where are they polling? What exactly is the question? I have participated in one poll in my entire sixty-years of living. The polls are only as good as the pollster skew the question and the audience. Ask the same people you are relying on your above referenced poll if they want their taxes increased to give Israel an additional 60 million dollars and you would get a different answer.
