Hoax: Hate crime attackers: "This is MAGA country."

DP Mostly I think it’s resenting the sheer audacity that someone could have a different opinion than they. This is not a trivial thing for people who consider themselves correct about everything. It’s an affront. From there, the hatred grows and feeds on itself. Five or six years go, Donald Trump was just a eccentric, loudmouth rich guy with a tv show. No one hated him. No one called him racist. He was just Donald Trump. Three times married, lots of girlfriends, numerous affairs, expensive divorces, rich playboy real estate tycoon and tv producer. Yes, he was boorish and unsophisticated compared to typical east coast blue blood aristocracy... but no one would ever suggest he was a Nazi. Now, people on this board regularly say that Trump is worse than Hitler. Really? REALLY? I’m supposed to take anything you say seriously after reading that? The left has completely jumped the shark with hatred for anyone who disagrees with them politically. Their outlook is completely binary. If you’re not with them, then you’re literally a Nazi worse than Hitler. People on the right, and people in the middle, just look at them in disbelief. That’s where we are. |

No. It's pretty easy to figure out. It's easier to focus on the short comings of someone else than of yourself. When you think someone else is worse than you in some way, it gives you an excuse not to deal with your own bad behavior. Look at the excuses made for the VA Gov. He's not "as bad" as Trump, so it's ok. And now let's all get together and say hateful things about Trump and anyone who voted for Trump and anyone who we think voted for Trump. Let's not think at all about where we fall short. And it's easy to understand why Trump was demonized from the beginning. HRC was a shoe in. She was going to win. She certainly couldn't lose to this guy who wasn't a politician, couldn't stay on message, often barely had a cohesive message. Heck, he'd flip flopped around parties so much it's not a surprise he couldn't state a consistent political philosophy. He didn't have one. And HRC was going to win. The first woman President! Someone to finish up what Obama started! But that jerk Trump, he ruined it all. He ruined it by playing the game better than she could, which was unthinkable because she was the one with experience. How on earth could she have missed paying attention to electoral votes?! It must he HIS FAULT! We can't demonize her. She's a much better candidate than he is. Would be a better president. He's a joke! And evil. Yes, evil... No wondering needed. It's obvious. |

Some thoughts:
A Class-4 felony conviction will yield some prison time, but he also has to worry about the fake letter he sent with the powdery substance, which is another federal crime. A friend sent me this, which he picked up on some Internet blog: “A well conducted police state pardons a few prisoners now and then; this persuades the populace that the rest are guilty. Similarly, a well conducted SJW state like the one in which we live should convict a hate-hoaxer now and then if it wishes to maintain the illusion that the vast majority of hate crimes are not hoaxes.” Had the camera not been facing away and had this staged attack gone viral, he would have blood on his hands with the likely resultant rioting. Will be interesting to hear his manager’s story, since he allegedly heard the attackers on the cell phone. If the Chicago detectives get ahold of his unredacted cell phone records, all bets are off. ABC destroyed its credibility with that nauseating interview. In its pathological desire to embrace yet another hate-crime narrative, the legacy media ignored all the obvious red flags: Two random Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats somehow recognizing a character on a TV show that apparently zero Trump supporters have even heard of, in a 90% Democrat city, wandering around outside at 2 AM during the subzero Polar Vortex. Even if Tom Wolfe were still alive, he could not have made this stuff up! He would probably categorize this hate hoax as “Fake Noose.” |

DP Their opinion on what? On Trump? I don’t hate Trump. Therefore, to many liberals, that means I am worthy of hate, simply by virtue of not hating Trump. When ‘hating the “right” people’ is your benchmark for deciding who you hate, then the needle in your moral compass is missing. |

But but but ... he just wanted to be famous!
This is so wrong on so many levels but I am glad the law enforcement is on it. If it indeed turns out that he orchestrated the attack for personal gain, he should be fined heavily to deter others who might be tempted to plan fake hate crimes. A psychological evaluation must also be in order. |
