Completely agree. She’s perfect. I don’t know that she’s made one misstep as his wife.

She's made plenty of missteps early on, but they were innocuous. No weight in the skirt, working too little, that sort of thing, but you never had to worry about her doing something hurt the Crown. She really understands her job and she embraces it wholeheartedly. If she has private disagreements with her role, we'll never know.

I mean hell will freeze over before Kate goes to Oprah, know what I'm saying?

Kate comes from a background that prepared her for this type of life.

She does not. She was upper middle class. Her parents owned a party supply business and had modest beginnings- her mother was an airline attendant. She was certainly not an aristocrat like Diana. However she is complete grace- never a hair out of place, always behaves in a way befitting of her title. She is a wonderful asset to the crown, as much as it pains me to imagine what compromise/sacrifice that requires of her, particularly as a woman, in her life and marriage.

I think that is what the poster meant.. Kate's mom probably was always controlling her weight obsessively as this is what the job calls for. When you are attendant you need to be within certain weight limit... or at least that was thing in the past. So the comment was NOT without a merit and did NOT have to imply aristocratic bacground.

Nonsense. All the pictures of Kate from her college days and while dating William show her at a healthy weight.

Please. It was obvious that Kate’s parents were desperately pushing her to marry well. They sent her to the same school as William. When he transferred, she followed. This was before they even dated. I can only imagine the type of pressure they put on her to get his attention.

This is such a tired argument. They've been married for TEN YEARS. They've known each other more than half their lives. They have three children together. From what we see, they look pretty happy together. Maybe they are not, maybe they are, but I don't get why people go on and on about how evil or cunning Kate was/is. Can't you see the misogyny? What, did she just decide it was going to happen and Will had no say in the matter? Or she broke him down or she ensnared him with her magical sex prowess?

And... no one transferred. In fact, it wasn't released where William was going until just before school started.

Kate's family is not upper middle class. Sorry to disappoint. They are lower-middle in the UK terms.

It is different here in the US as "class" is simply an economic term but in the UK it is about background and education.

I don't believe either Mr or Mrs. Middleton attended university. That makes them lower-middle regardless of income.

Uh, no. They are firmly "middle class" here. Carole Middleton did indeed grow up pretty poor and did not go to University but Michael's family was pretty wealthy and he did go to University. Interesting that the woman who builds a business from the ground up and becomes a multi-millionaire is the one who gets all the snark but then what else is new?

I wonder how the Queen feels on her saddest day

It was not her saddest day. When you see your loved one slowly die at the end of a very long life- there is no saddest day and you have mourned quite a bit already. There are many sad days. At least IME, the funeral day is a day to be endured and frequently a relief, but it isn't the saddest day.

I do agree with this after my parent’s long illness. The saddest day, the day I cried the hardest, was the day the doctors told us they couldn’t do any more. That was 3 weeks before she died.

This is probably why harles looked distressed when he came out of the hospital. I can't recall if it was when Prince Philip was released to go home.

Nice try.

Their current bank account, real estate and lifestyle make them upper class.

It’s ridiculous to label them based on their situation decades ago. They are the grandparents of the future king. Even Anne Boleyn’s parents’ status improved dramatically through marriage.

After the bagpiper left, then I think this was one of the trumpets played and then, ‘God Save the Queen,’ At that point when the camera returned to the center of the church, it seemed as though everyone was wiping their eyes. I replayed it several times, because I couldn’t figure out – with everyone crank the same time? I would, but I am an emotional American.
If I’m right, it must’ve been when the casket was finally lowered, and the image of Queen Elizabeth alone with ‘God Save the Queen,’ being played in her honor.

In US terms yes, of course, but not in UK terms. In the UK you can be impoverished and Upper Class, you can be impoverished and Aristocracy but you cannot be uneducated and from a working class background and suddenly become upper class, though you can of course become rich. It is different there. You need to understand there are differences, cultural and in terminology.

Yeah total alienation from most members of both extended families and lack of many (any?) long term friends are huge red flags.

How does the old saying go? I you think everyone around you is crazy...maybe it’s you?

Same can be said about Harry and Meghan. Harry has a mind of his own. She didn’t make him do anything he did not want to do

Weren’t there rumors that Kate made a last-minute switch in her college choice after learning where William was going? In any case it’s water under the bridge. They’ve been together for nearly all their adult lives and never embarrassed the Queen so clearly something is working right.

Agree. She looks absolutely regal. Like a future Queen.

And why wouldn't be? The woman has literally the entire CASTLE full of jewels. She has an access to ANY designer she can dream of,
She has UNLIMITED FOUNDS, she has ARMY of private assistents.

Now if you say this about single mom who has five kids and does it all alone... you got my attention.

Otherwise.. OH LOOK THE CLOUD IS WHITE!!!!!

I think you need a sedative.

That was protocol. Harry and William walked out together with Kate.

I meant walking behind the coffin.

I've Googled but didn't find anything.

Why do the Royals walk behind the coffin rather than ride in a car? I'm thinking it's just tradition.
