agreed except on the boys side if you are not on top team there are options in MC outside of BSC. Because boys side is so strong competition is very high for that top team. |
I agree with this, and if you must have MLS Next, Bethesda is the way to go. If you just want the best possible coaching probably closer to you, then you could/should consider Arlington where the teams are on a par with Bethesda's and I would argue that the coaching may be even better - certainly if you get the TD himself who I think is the best youth soccer coach in the DMV area - period. However it appears Arlington will still be ECNL, although there were strong rumors of MLS Next a little while back. |
True - although if he's coming from VA, he has other options closer to home too .

Moco to allow limited spectators starting April 2
But still a max of 50. Lol. https://mocoshow.com/blog/limited-spectators-allowed-at-moco-sporting-events-starting-april-2/?fbclid=IwAR1Af7_DNAAOH58I5pWLYDoE4Llz9nvgtbwac1QkGyTILUUEQjL0RIBktZc |
No this is great news! The previous 50 included players and refs, etc. This 50 is only spectators..so about 100ppl how I read it. |
| Is this not mcps only? |

Anyone know why the BSC 2008G ENCL team is playing in the EDP League this season?

Yes, at the time they registered it was unknown how many ECNL games would be played due to MoCo Covid Restrictions. |
2006B is pretty weak. |
| eh pick on a age group i guess. boys are strong and will be fine. girls results against pda this past weekend show a larger gap. 06s were fine others not so much. 07s and 05s particularly disappointing. Offense was nor existent. no goals. that is on coach |
Not a BSC parent. It's all relative I think. Perhaps you could say that the 06 team isn't especially strong - and you could make that claim about the 05 team too. That said - which other clubs locally would you claim had stronger teams in those age groups? Baltimore, Arlington, Pipeline for 06. That's about it. So I think weak is a bit of a stretch. |
It doesn’t look like Potomac belongs in this division. All the other teams seems on par with each other. I hope the Potomac players won’t be too demoralized playing against much better teams. |

PDA results this past weekend vs last Spring are much worse. Not a single win. Barley any goals even scored. Defense against set plays was bad. That is on the coach.
Basically same players as last year, but PDA was much stronger. They were really good. It is disappointing to see our teams fall off. Hopefully they rebound later this month. But for now, these teams are going backwards. BSC needs coaches that are fully committed to these girls teams, and not directors with day jobs to fall back on. |

Not a single win against PDA? You realize those PDA teams haven’t lost a game in years. 08s haven’t lost since going full 11v11. 07s haven’t lost since March 2019. 06s won ECNL championship in 2019 and haven’t lost a game since June 2019. 05s also won national championship in 2019 and haven’t lost a game in 4 years. 04s last lost in ECNL finals in July 2019. That’s a dominant club.
Bethesda girls teams just can’t compete against a club at that level. No shame in that. One exception is the Bethesda 06 girls team. After winning Jeff Cup with impressive wins over World Class, VDA and FCV, they followed it up with a tie against PDA 06. Bethesda 06s may be the real deal nationally. |
| To be fair to BSC, PDA has dominated teams. They are one of the best clubs in the nation and there is not a club in in this area that is as strong across age groups. The 05 team is one of only two opponents that has scored on BSC this season. From what I heard, the PDA 05 team has a half dozen girls who have attended the YNT training camp. The U18/19 team has girls heading to UNC, Rutgers, South Carolina, ND, Yale, etc. The U17 has commits to places to similar schools. BSC is a competitive club but let's be realistic. The 05 and 06 teams are very competitive with PDA while the other age groups are not as competitive with PDA but will compete for a playoff spot. |
