I am a woman with an enormous gut. I hate it and am ashamed.

How can I lose belly fat? It is so humiliating. I hate looking at myself. I look preggo. It is genetic. My family carries weight in their stomachs. But I have gained during COVID. Please help.

Ok are you bloated or it's just fat there. Specific foods, wheat and dairy, make me extremely bloated and have an enormous gut. When I stop eating these foods the fat melts off.

eat less, move more. there's no magic secret.

Cut out gluten dairy and sugar. Gut will be gone in six weeks.

You can't spot reduce fat, you have to reduce your overall body fat levels. Calorie counting and strength training is a good way to go on that. But you have nothing to be ashamed of. You're thinking about your body and judging yourself more than anyone else is. Try to summon the same love for yourself that you would if someone dear to you were feeling this, regardless of what else you pursue.

Not true. It may help lose overall weight, but if you are genetically too heavy, nothing you eat or don’t eat changes that

Lots of water and veggies to keep things moving and reduce bloat. Lots of core exercises to give you as much shape as possible. Note that you’re not “spot reducing” or “burning belly fat,” as those aren’t actual things. You’re just developing the muscles so that they can better reduce the jiggle.

Build more activity into your life. Be mindful about what you eat. There’s no magic solution.

Which core exercises are best for beginners?

I have the same issue and agree with cutting out gluten, dairy and sugar. It sucks at first but your body will thank you.

Planks are great - in the beginning, you can do modified, with your knees on the floor.

The hard way= Change your diet and exercise everyday. You are eating too much (I assume). If you think I’m wrong please list out what you eat on a daily basis- and I mean every little morsel, snack and drink. Be honest please. If you use an app to track what you are eating you will be amazed at how much more you are really eating and the amount of calories ingested. Try Yazio for a food tracking app.

Those telling you to cut dairy, sugar and gluten are right. Not much left to eat but meat and vegetables once you cut out those things. Cut out processed foods and you will lose weight.

If you drink- cut that out immediately- alcoholic is empty calories and definitely causes stomach bloat as well as weight gain.

Quick way if you have $$$= liposuction or tummy tuck.

Yes true.

I am an apple and I was holding about 10-15 pounds in my gut alone and I lost it by cutting out gluten, dairy and sugar. I actually have a flat belly and a waist now and I am fifty.

Try it OP. You can come back and brag in six weeks.

For abs, if floor planks are too much, you can do them on a wall or counter top, with your heels raised, with your body on an incline. And if you don’t like crunches, try wall sits, forward kicks, knee lifts to the chest, standing rotations or hoopla hoop! For beginning cardio, go for brisk walks up hill. For me, good music and dogs motivate me to get off my butt when I feel lazy.
