How much soda do your kids drink?

Anonymous
My kids say that all of their friends drink soda, and that I am pretty much the only mom who doesn't allow any soda. Is that true? How much soda do your kids drink - none, occasional (like at a birthday party or special event), 1-2 per week, every day, every meal? Just curious!

We don’t buy it and haven’t been eating out at all, so not since March.

They don’t miss it.

None. They're 9, 7, and 4. That's not changing anytime soon.

How old are your kids? We don’t drink soda at all in our house but my kids are pretty young still.

My kids are 6 and 3 and they don't drink soda. They get juice 1-2x per week.

9 year old. Maybe once per week, if that.

ages 11 and 8.
Never buy it so it isn't in the house.
We let them order it on occasion in restaurants (because it is kind of like a treat for them), but they usually request milk on their own anyway.

Restaurants, birthday parties, special occasions. So, maybe 2-3x a month? Always sprite or ginger ale.

Age 12 and 9.

^ Kids are 15 and 10. They can drink whatever they want when we go out.

Exactly as PPs said. No reason to have soda in the house so kids don’t drink it. Next up, how much crack do your kids smoke

In the house, basically none. The exception is that I'll occasionally (maybe once every 3-4 months at a minimum) pick up a can of Sprite for my 14 yo because she likes to mix it with lemonade.

My 17 yo sometimes buys herself a soda at the CVS next door to her job, or her boss treats everyone so she probably drinks one a week.

They've always been allowed soda if it's offered when they are a guest in someone's home or at a party (family get togethers where we're all present excepted).
