None 19 and 17. I never drank it so we just didn't buy it. They never developed the tase for it. |
^^same . My kids are 17 and 15. They don't like it. |
ITT: rich families congratulating themselves on their healthy habits |
6 yo. Occasional La Croix, Perrier, or Ginger Ale for an upset tummy. Stay away from sugary drinks. Mostly water, milk, OJ. Sometimes I do treat with a creamy cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows in the morning, or maybe a blueberry tea with honey, when I have my coffee. ![]() |
Occasionally. We don’t forbid it, we just don’t buy it for home. That means they can have it anywhere else - a party, a restaurant, whatever. I think it’s cute when my son orders a coke and looks at me. Whatever, dude. That one coke a year means nothing. |
None, and if I have it my way, they never will. I don't care what their friends are drinking. Mine have never complained about not having had pop. They know it's unhealthy, and not something anyone their age should be having. |
Do they also feel the same way about cookies or ice cream? What does age have to do with it? Yes it is way too much sugar but the same can be said about other treats. |
One of DS’s friends is adamant he doesn’t drink sugar because it has too much sugar, but then drinks those sweet boba teas, juice, and Starbucks drinks.
My kids drink them on occasion, usually special events or when out with friends. |
I wonder about that. Worse in what way? It's easier on their teeth for sure, right? |
They never saw their friends drinking it and wondered what it tasted like? They weren't even the slightest bit curious? I find that really strange. My husband and I don't drink soda, but my kids asked to try it and do drink it on occasion. Its NBD. This is like saying "I just never ate cake so we didn't buy it. They never developed the taste for cake." |
11 and a half. One a day probably? I try to buy the tiny ones. Very healthy eater so sugar isn't a concern...it's the teeth.
Dentists in the family drink a ton of soda. Whatever. |
I grew up extremely poor, my mother never bought soda. Why spend money on soda when one can buy peanut butter or bread???? |
They’ve never had it, age 4 and 5. |
My 4 year old has only had carbonation in a root beer float (like maybe 4oz) or sparkling cider at a holiday/wedding. We tell her other sodas are for grown-ups and not she can choose for herself when she is older. I used to drink a lot of soda but have cut back to maybe once a week and DH is less than that, so she isn't seeing it consumed all that much. |
