Actually, lemonade is better for teeth than carbonated soda, seltzer, etc. |
I posted about the 9yo who is making healthier choices. She bakes at least once per week, and we make frozen yogurt from Greek yogurt and fruit at least once per week. She can make more anytime she wants to do so, and we previously had ice cream in the house at all times (limited ingredient, but still ice cream). One of her current ideas is to macerate fruit (and sometimes herbs), then soak it in water in the refrigerator overnight. She's using the macerated fruit for baking while she drinks the water. I have no objection to her experimenting, and I'm certainly not going to limit her cooking and baking. DO I want her to make more than we can reasonably eat in a few days? No, but that has more to do with wastage and freezer burn. |
None. 13 and 4. Myself and the 4 yo drink water and hot herbal tea only. Thev13 yo drinkscjuice and water. My husband drinks soda. |
Age 12.5
No soda, no fast food (fast food = a place a car can drive through, not eating out at a restaurant just to be clear ![]() There was a year or so where DS did ask for Sprite when we were at a restaurant but that doesnt really happen anymore (pre pandemic). We don't drink it and we don't buy it for the house. I've never seen soda at a birthday party that I can think of. When he goes to sleep away camp, they have soda/gatorade at the camp store and I told him I don't care if he has one a day as long as its not diet because the chemical sweetener creeps me out. During meals at home we drink water, juice or he'll have almond milk. |
My kids are 5 and have never tasted soda, they have juice maybe twice a month, my husband and I drink only water |
