GOOD COUNSEL ‘BLINDSIDED’ BY COUNTY’S CANCELLATION OF ITS GRADUATION
https://www.mymcmedia.org/good-counsel-blindsided-by-countys-cancellation-of-its-graduation/ |
| Which one of you complained? |
| Exactly. How sad for those kids. Hope they can reschedule. But! Be warned that if private schools don’t comply with all recommendations, Gayles will step in and shut it down. And there are people closely watching and waiting for the privates to mess up. |
| I have kids so I feel bad for them. But this was dumb. We've always been in phase 2. Has the limit always been 50 ppl max? Why did the school think they did not have to abide by the crowd limit? Maybe I'm missing something. Seems like an admin fail. |
Are privates allowed to open if they follow recommendations? |
| Stay tuned. I believe they found a way around the shutdown yesterday. An announcement will be made today. |
| I’d blame the school. If that’s always been the guideline, shame on them for not paying attention. It doesn’t sound like it’s been a moving target. Doesn’t give me a lot of hope that they are paying attention to how reopening guidelines should be applied. |
| Why should the rest of us be put at risk so they can hold a graduation? They aren’t special. Their kids aren’t special. |
|
Typical.
I have some of these idiots on my FB. One family boasting about not quarantining. And few others touting the videos from the demon doctor. |
Yes. The county has no jurisdiction on whether privates can or cannot open. Only the state. |
Right. The article says the admin said "neighboring schools had graduations without being shut down". The whole "he broke the rules so why cant I?" Argument never works. |
| Stone Ridge had a graduation...how did they get away with it? |
Not even the county health department? |
|
Several schools had an outdoor graduation. I'm guessing they were careful about numbers and space. |
