The core of that team is bethesda players. There is zero to debate that. Non Bethesda players have left recently due to lack of play time. Rush players thought they were going to rule the roost coming over to Bethesda and that’s not been the case. 12 of those players are Bethesda players and majority of them start. KL will get the full potential out of those girls but enough with the coyote superiority. Some of those coyotes are on the second team, some at md United, etc. and next year? They will have to fight for their spot with the influx of players wanting to come to that team |
Someone doesn’t know 07. Who talks about a 13 or 14 year old “ruling the roost”? Players come for ECNL and to play against better competition. I’ve never seen of heard of any KID talk like that. That’s parent-speak. Slowly, KL is weeding out the non-serious and entitled at every level. Bravo! |
| 06 team Champions!!! |
| So, the starting line-up for the 06 team is predominately made up of players that came from Bethesda originally? I know those MRM players were highly skilled and used to winning. Must be quite a shock to them riding the bench. |
Talking 06 guy. |
Yes. Hence why mrm players are leaving already. |
You’ve got jokes - there have been zero defections from 2006. Where would they go anyway? |
Well they’re all BSC players now so it doesn’t matter where they came from. The girls clearly enjoy playing with each other and they work hard for each other. Those kids aren’t worried at all about previous affiliations. Nor should they be because previous affiliations are irrelevant. But if one wants to be factual, of the 10 starting field players, 5 or 6 (depending on who KL starts) played for MRM last year, two others used to play for MRM a couple years ago. And the goalies (both of which are terrific) split time, one of which played for MRM last year. And they ALL used to play for KL at MRM. The former MRM players haven’t been leaving. That’s just not true. |
| Again, why are folks fixated on the 06 team on here? Who cares what happens at the 14 and 15 year old level? No college coach unless you played on a USYNT (and no, I don't mean this new virtual pool nonsense). These kids will change physically and mentally in a short couple of years, especially now college coaches have learned from their mistakes of recruiting players freshman year of high school just to lock them in, then realize they are not as talented as they age up. |
People discuss the team because they’re the best team in the DMV. Of course, things could change and people could move, but as of today, they’re an interesting topic of conversation. And the team’s success is especially notable because BSC hasn’t had a team play at this level since the 01 team. |
|
There are lots of discussions about certain teams in the DMV that are good/Elite teams.
Common sense indicates that these team have very talented players. Other would say that these teams have big/fast players. Regardless of the above, do these teams typically have a player at a certain position that is the difference maker such as a great play-making CM, a great finishing CF, or other? |
Yes, everyone in all the land are discussing this team. We talk about them at work and family gatherings. I can’t imagine going a single day without getting an update on how some U15 team is doing. |
Haha yeah you’re taking it a bit far. This is a DISCUSSION BOARD and people discuss topics of interest. This board is literally about Bethesda soccer - it seems logical that the 06 Bethesda team would come up. If you don’t want to participate in the particular discussion then go to a different discussion. Problem solved. |
+1000 I love seeing a crabby parent get destroyed first thing on a Monday. Good post here. |
Why would I go anywhere else when this is the single most talked about team in all the land? I can't imagine the swell of pride the 06 parents must feel when they see how infatuated EVERONE is with their girls soccer team. I wonder when the Washington Post will commit a beat reporter to this particular squad? |
