Men: how do you feel about women who get regular botox, fillers, etc?

Anonymous
How can husbands not know how much makeup their wife is wearing? Don't they see her when she gets out of the shower, makeup free? Can't they remember that as her baseline natural look? How hard is this?

For what it's worth, I find my wife more attractive without makeup. I've seen her with makeup that she did, that her friends did for her, and that a makeup professional did. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. But it's rarely better than no makeup. I don't feel that way about all women, though. Some I find more attractive with makeup. My point is just that sometimes a man genuinely finds a woman more attractive without makeup.

Not really. Botox applied well is not obvious.

This is what people who get Botox tell themselves.

Men always tell me how much they love that I’m all natural.

I’ve been having these procedures done for over a decade.

They’re idiots.

What procedures? Just curious.

Botox and filler.

They tend to make a particularly big deal about how my lips are so natural, while making fun of women who get lip filler. I get lip filler.

I don’t fault men for being dumb, but I’m not impressed by people who try to compliment me by putting others down.

+1 never ceases to amaze me how people will trash the stuff I’ve gotten done in front of me. Yeah you’re a real Sherlock Holmes. Nothing getting past you.

You’re assuming they don’t know you’ve gotten it done.

Of course men don’t want women who look like they’ve gotten bad fillers. But they do in fact want women who look young and well-rested, and for that to just have happened by magic.

Just like the super fit chick who drinks beer, eats burgers and pizza, but doesn’t count calories.

Yep. This.

They don’t. That’s why they’re gossiping to me about someone else getting stuff done and what ninnies they are.

This is what people who are too poor or too silly not to get Botox need to believe as their 11s become permanently ironed between their eyes

You can’t underestimate how subtle makeup can be. I wear a tinted moisturizer, fill in by brows very slightly, wear a tinted lip balm and curl my eyelashes. With very subtle makeup it looks so close to no makeup that you’d have to see me side by side to realize the difference.

I don’t doubt you could like the way your wife looks without makeup vs with the makeup you’ve seen her wearing but a lot of this comes down to products used and skill level.

Men always say that they hate makeup, but then as soon as they see a woman without makeup, they say she looks old, ugly, or tired.
They like loads of makeup, just as long as it's the kind of makeup that doesn't look like makeup. They like the kind of makeup that takes a lot of time and effort to apply. The kind of makeup that women might find artistic or, heaven forbid, fun, they hate. Also, if a woman responds to any of this saying that she applies whatever makeup she applies for herself alone, men say that she's lying. If thy believe her, they'll say she's vain. If a woman says that she applies it for men, then she's pathetic.

Moral of the story? Ladies, do whatever you want.

You can try all you want to please men, but it will never be enough.

Don’t get work done in the hope of attracting a man.

Don’t not get work done because you think a man might not like the look of it.

I personally think Botox looks bad. I agree with the pp who says it might not look bad initially, but it eventually does if done repeatedly.

That said, I think women should do what makes them feel good and look how they want to look.

This just isn’t true. And, no, I haven’t gotten Botox before. I think the people saying this are just very proud of themselves for noticing Nicole Kidman got Botox and now feel overconfident. Let them be, though, they will only dig their heels in deeper.

Went on a date with a man who administers Botox (albeit for headaches). He told me I didn’t need Botox. I said surprise mofo, I’ve been getting it every 3 months for the last 5 years and THATS why I look like I don’t need it.

Then I tried to get him to hook me up with some units at cost and he wouldn’t. Oh well.

Amazing. Also, +1000 bonus points for using mofo. Such a great word.

I get cheek and chin implants, but, nose sculpting, and I regular get my lines shot. Not to mention my mommy tuck and a few sucks and contouring here and there. Yes. I am insecure but I own it. I had a disfiguring accident as a child and I feel better with my cosmetic surgery. Why judge?

I usually assume that anyone in their 40’s and over with no wrinkles is doing Botox. (I’m a woman).

I find it amazing, and depressing, how we keep inventing things for women to spend money on to make themselves look better. I’m almost 50 and I feel like when I was young women didn’t do any of this. Now everyone gets mani/pedi, public hair waxed or lasered off (and often other hair as well), Botox, fillers, not to mention hair extensions and dye and actual plastic surgery. It’s amazing to me how pervasive all this is.

I don’t do any of it. I’m lazy and I guess I don’t care all that much what I look like.

I agree. When are we going to figure out what’s valuable is in the brain 🤷🏻‍♀️
