Men: how do you feel about women who get regular botox, fillers, etc?

I probably don’t even notice.

You would notice she looked better you just wouldn’t know why.

I can definitely tell when something is done. I even notice the retinol/acid peel glow.

You look at their face. The Botox is pretty obvious

Not really. Botox applied well is not obvious.

DH loves me taking care of my looks. Then again he is a plastic surgeon.

As usual men only notice when something is done poorly and then claim they don’t like that thing at all even when done well. I got breast implants when I was 20 years old then spent my whole dating life hearing men tell me how horrible and obvious all breast implants are. Hilarious.

I think I can tell and I think it looks weird. Breast implants also look bad most of the time.

I get Botox regularly, and I get way more compliments from men when I have it vs when I don’t. I haven’t been keeping up on it with the pandemic, and I can tell I definitely get hit on less.

I’ve only known one man who was skilled at noticing who’s had work done, and it’s because he was married to a celebrity who regularly got Botox/fillers.

I feel lucky to be married to a beautiful woman who doesn’t need that crap.

DH claims that he hates it. He travels in circles with very rich people. He thinks many of the women have obvious frozen, expressionless faces. He really doesn’t like any fake or frozen look. I’d like to get filler for a very deep 11 line, and he’s really against it. We’re still in negotiations.

Well, but both of your money. Botox and fillers cost several hundred dollars (or more) every 3-4 months.

Do couples with joint finances and no money issues have to negotiate every expenditure for personal use? Like nicer shoes or more electronics than necessary? Seems a little much.

I don’t know. DH and I trust each other that we are both working towards the same end financial goal. We seem to have enough money to cover what we want and we definitely have enough money to cover what we want. We discuss big purchases with each other but it’s more for sounding board purposes rather than looking for a yes or no.

Jennifer Aniston Botox is obvious, if as a celebrity she cannot find a “skilled” surgeon, then I am sure as hell won’t be lucky to land a nice surgeon to do my face.

Agree. Botox and/filler, when done well, can look very good and natural- short term. But with repeated use over yrs, it starts to look unnatural, especially the filler. It makes your face lumpy in an unnatural way over time.

Even if you have the money, your spouse may not be ok with your burning $1000 every 3-4 months on injectables. At least a good pair of shoes can last 5+ years.

What about other procedures such as radio frequency/ thermage /laser? They just cause mini injury to the skin to reinforce collagen regeneration, the worst is that you stop and resume normal aging but shouldn’t be “lumpy”?
