Men: how do you feel about women who get regular botox, fillers, etc?

Yeah of course you love that she’s good-looking. But if a woman isn’t she needs help. That’s how it works. No man is gonna say “my wife aged like ass and I LOVE IT.”

NP. They want “their women” completely natural and also extraordinarily good looking for their age. So just, do that. Duh.

Define what merits needing help.

I’m 30 and I have great skin without use of any fillers or Botox. I’m not going to go off on much older women who aren’t aging well about how I’m superior. I say get the work you want done. Bunch of biddies out there trying to look down their noses at people who want to look their best.

I personally don't care if someone wants to get work. I take issue with people claiming that women need work after a certain age or that you can't possible look your best without getting work done.

No botox. No fillers. No plastic surgeries.

A woman that’s willing to age gracefully is far more attractive than someone who’s trying to hold on to youth artificially.
Yes but, not all age gracefully. If you have the face of a 60 year old woman in your 40s, Botox might be a good step to take.

Exactly. It’s wonderful to look great at your age but what if you don’t? Also, I do notice a lot of men on threads saying they don’t like boob jobs or reductions or any work. But then so many saying they are so happy their wives have ‘nice breasts, still perky after kids!’etc.

Men like the idea of aging gracefully as long as you still look hot.

And you can without botox. I'm sorry you're married to and have only known dimwit men in your life.

No need to get testy. I’m sure a lot of women do look hot without Botox. A lot of women look better with it, too. It is what it is, bud.

DP, but who are you calling testy? That statement was just that: a statement.

The pp talking about “dimwit men” in my life. It sounded like they were getting a little hot under the collar. Personally, I do think there is an expectation for women to “look hot” but that there is also a lot of contradictory pressure to”be natural”. Maybe the pp doesn’t agree and thinks this is just a few guys a know but I believe it to be a larger scale cultural problem.

It's a little disingenuous to blame you for having to get Botox on men, don't you think?

Then my beef isn’t with you.

It's funny how you all keep blaming this on men, but I rarely if ever hear a man complain about the way a woman looks when it comes to wrinkles or whateve. It's ALWAYS women point at other women saying she needs to do this that and the other thing to look better.

Not really. Botox applied well is not obvious.

This is what people who get Botox tell themselves.

This is what people who are too poor or too silly not to get Botox need to believe as their 11s become permanently ironed between their eyes

This is what someone who is 40 but looks loos 19 knows. Great genes, great skincare, and I can spend my money on anything I want to sense I don't have to pay a fortune pumping my skin with who knows what pretending it makes me look better. I can also still blink and wink.

I’m glad you are saving money because you are so naturally stunning. Perhaps you should invest your money in an education.

When all else fails start insulting people over insults. It saddens me that your life is so empty, that you feel the only things of value are looks, money, and education.

I’m almost 50 and I feel like when I was young women didn’t do any of this. Now everyone gets mani/pedi, public hair waxed or lasered off (and often other hair as well), Botox, fillers, not to mention hair extensions and dye and actual plastic surgery. It’s amazing to me how pervasive all this is.

I don’t do any of it. I’m lazy and I guess I don’t care all that much what I look like.

I agree. When are we going to figure out what’s valuable is in the brain 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ha okay so my mom says this, that what’s on the outside really doesn’t matter, and she looks insane. I’m sure both PPs would judge her appearance pretty harshly. She doesn’t get good haircuts and hair is constantly frizzy, she wears no makeup ever, and she just wears whatever she happens to see from goodwill, no matter the pattern or fit or brand (she does buy good-quality stuff though).

I adore my mom, but I want to put more effort into my appearance. And that doesn’t mean I don’t know that it is far from the most important thing in life.

And of course the next question is at what point is too much when it comes to putting effort into your appearance? How different is, say, teeth whitening from Botox? Yes Botox is more invasive but they are both expensive cosmetic procedures you don’t need.

you know it's possible to be well-groomed and attractive without teeth whitening and botox. If you want to engage in cosmetic procedures that's fine, but it's ridiculous to act like if you don't get them you look like a slob.

I don’t get Botox. If you don’t believe there is pressure on women to look young for their age as they get older I don’t think I’m going to convince you of it. And I did say it is a cultural problem, not just a man problem. It was the pp that blamed individual “dimwit men”.

No they don’t complain they just get divorced and marry a woman who looks younger (either because she actually is or has invested in looking younger).

This doesn't happen most of the time. Most older men are with women their same age, and both looked aged. I'm sorry that's been your experience. I'm sorry your self-esteem is so low and you have internalized misogyny so much. I think your money would be better spent in therapy than Botox. At the very least you should widen your horizons.

No way, everyone knows men don’t care about looks and find younger women repulsive.
