I used it as an example of the most egregious, and one would think obvious, examples of modern racism, where even that video is not enough "proof" for someone who doesn't want to see racism.

I'm not in any way saying the situations are equal.

You’re an idiot. Nobody in their right mind is arguing that wasn’t racism. The facts are CLEAR in that instance. Those same facts are missing in all accusations that Piers and Sharon are racist. There are literally no facts at all to support racist claims against them except that Piers criticized Meghan which in itself is not evidence of racism simply because she’s 1/4 black. Are you even listening to yourselves?

If that were true, he would not have been fired. Someone with the power to make that decision found enough cause to do so.

He wasn’t fired because of racism. At least get your facts straight! He was fired because her ridiculed her suicide claims. This is why people like you are not taken seriously and just bring further detriment to the entire cause.

Oh you got me! Racism isn't real. Pack it up everyone. They figured it out.

DP. You are entirely missing the point. Racism is very real. But you diminish the real instances of racism when you throw around baseless accusations.

Oh and here are a random sampling of some other things he's tweeted over the years that make these vendettas seem racist in context.

He responded to a picture of Amber Rose (which I can't post because it is expliit) to "put it away" and tweeted Kim Kardashian that he would 'buy her some clothes' in response to a picture she tweeted.

Here's him mocking chinese people: https://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/ofcom-piers-morgan-chinese-language-peter-phillips-a4341301.html

So in conclusion, he has said a bunch of racist stuff, which makes his weird fixation on MM seem both misogynist AND racist. But I'd also just throw out there, he's a hateful and horrible person. Maybe he's an equal opportunity hateful and horrible person, but if you're hateful and horrible you're going to be called out for being that way to both everyone and the unique groups. And if you are hateful to everyone, why is Sharon Osborne defending you anyway? "I'm an absolutely horrible person to literally everyone" is a weird defense of racism and does not make you a more appealing person to be around.

Just watch the goalposts move. Your proof won't be enough. It never is. They'll pick apart each example, explain all the plausible that one example could not be racist in isolation, completely ignoring the larger pattern.

What is "definitely racist"? And why is that the bar now, and not just racist? Maybe if you could define what you're looking for, we could provide it.

So now you are suggesting that people should be punished or fired for being racist even if it is not established that they were being racist? That’s not a good policy.

When it comes to racism, much could be lost in translation and interpretation, especially coming from an ignorant white person’s point of view. How is every white person supposed to know what could possibly be perceived as racist by POC? Sure there is a baseline understanding, but there is a ton of gray area, especially from a white person’s perspective.

That's kind of the point. If a person of color says something was racist, perhaps consider that it might be, before you jump to defend and assume the white person has been wrongly accused.

Personally, I wish that pointing out racism could be dealt with with more nuance than it currently is. This 0 tolerance stuff doesn't allow for learning. BUT when someone is in a position of power where their "ism" of any kind has the potential to create more victims, they need to be removed from that seat of power until they can wield it responsibly.

Like you said there are degrees here. Some instances are inadvertent, accidental, and may have miscommunication at the root. Those don't need to be career ending. But they are no less painful for the people on the receiving end, and they should not be minimized/dismissed. To deal with them is going to require white people to let go of the overly simplistic definitions of racism that they were fed as children.

It doesn’t really matter if piers Morgan is racist or not, people think he is racist.

The question to Sharon was “are you concerned that people think you support someone who is racist”?

The crying was bizarre and her attack was very defensive. But she never really answered the question.
