Meghan Markle and Prince Harry News and Updates Part 2

And American media coming for those lying British tabloid necks. Love to see it.

Something everyone can agree on:

Many people will focus on staging their backyard to look like an outdoor living room like the interview setting.

I think she came across badly when she said she had done no research on TRF, British history of TRF, or the British press. It came across as being disinterested about the whole thing and then complaining when it doesn't turn out to be just like "being a celebrity" in the U.S. Like, why wouldn't she watch the Princess Diana interviews, at least?

Yes, she accepted the title without knowing or accepting what the job would entail? I feel for her on many levels but find it unbelievable that she could have done NO research before going into this, as she claimed.

This is why Harry's previous girlfriends - British society types - wouldn't marry him. They knew enough to avoid being trapped in the royal fish bowl. Was Harry not completely honest with Meghan before they got married?

And poor Harry - he has so many unresolved issues, and his whole life he's tried to run away. Going to Afghanistan - twice. Marrying Meghan, a biracial American. Now moving to the US. I worry about him.

+1. His exes came from mega wealthy families, ran in the same circles as Harry and William, and knew exactly what was in store. Kate knew too. MM pretty much went in blind, thinking she'd snagged a handsome, rich prince...

- Is MM kind of a fake clout chaser and a drama queen? Seems that way. And Harry's kind of an attention seeking drama queen too... they're clearly a match made in heaven.

- Is the BRF a bunch of cruel, cold, racist jerks who will shield a pedophile and many a cheater but not a mixed-race daughter in law and grandchild? Also yes.

Right?? No one comes out looking good here

They twist and twist the actual truths. I'm sure some things are dramatic, but so much of the real story is less sensational.

None of them are trustworthy. Do they even have proper journalism schools with standards of ethics?

I'm convinced Kate and William are going to have a 4th child after this interview to push him down to #7

and their second through third or fourth or whatever will end up just as embittered as Harry. When the older sibling gets everything, a healthy family dynamic is all but impossible

I think the pressure on Harry as William's only sibling shows that more is better. Kate should have another, maybe two or three more.

So they can be human shields for their brother? What kind of a mother would do this?

Right? Our "American princess" wouldn't be interesting topic, whoever she was. We only care because we secretly hate and/or are jealous of Black women.

Oh, wow! I didn't think the Queen or Phillip/their courtiers would even feel the need to deny it, but I guess they did. William and Charles must really be feeling the pressure.

I don't think they did interview to take down the monarchy, but I do think the interview was held with specific thought to market their new brand to Americans and drop some really clear cautions to the BRF that the couple has more information that they will sit on and not "name names" now.... but they can. Careful what you say about us, because you won't like what we can say about you. I saw one poster wrote that M & H will stay on path they are on for so long as they can and then if that well dries up, we'll see a mending of royal family relationship. Sounds about right.

She lost me at "I didn't Google him" when they started dating, and "I don't read the tabloids". Please!
If you start out on such a false note, made the rest of what she said dodgy. He seemed desperate to believe the narrative; honestly, at this point what option does he have?

Er, no. Not what I meant.

Sorry.

I’m not crazy about the narrative that they wouldnt get security and therefore were unsafe. They weren’t going to be GIFTED free security paid for by the crown and taxpayers. Of course they could have paid for their own security just like every other non-royal celebrity or globally prominent person does. Being without security was not actually going to happen. And no, they do not need extra security due to the kid being 1/4 black. I mean even Taylor Swift gets death threats FFS.

I think this really gets at the crux of the issue: the BRF as an institution is full of absurd contradictions and Catch-22's.

Taylor Swift pays for her own security because she's worked, made a ton of money, and is famous BECAUSE of her work. Harry/Meghan were not allowed to work or have a career unless they formally left the institution. Meanwhile, they and their son have very real security needs. Which were further amplified when the UK media started playing up the racist tropes in their headlines.

Another catch-22: why is a great-grandkid cut out of security when they are a child....but then gets the security once Charles becomes king? That's absurd. That child needs protection. Period. What an insane and illogical set of circumstances.

Finally, look at how miserable Philip/Anne/etc are in their lives. They have to go to their mother for money because they are not allowed to work. That's exactly what Harry/Meghan are trying to avoid - a life where they have to constantly ask William for money and live on the taxpayer dole until they die. The entire institution is preposterously outdated. If folks don't want them to be beholden to the largess of the taxpayer, they need to be able to establish a career. Harry is coming upon age 40 and has only another 10-20 to have a legitimate career. He's actually running out of time, hence why they forced the issue and moved.

Toxic, racist media environment constantly attacking your wife and child. No ability to work or make money. No future prospects or ability to pursue ambitions. And, finally, no one seriously considering mental health concerns.

Would you stick around?

Anonymous wrote:One of the biggest questions coming out of this interview is whether it was Charles or William who expressed concern about Archie's skin color. I'm curious to see how they react/defend themselves. Really curious to see if staff loyal to one or the other will leak to the press in defense of their person. IOW, will we see some kind of jockeying between the two houses to not get pegged with the single most damaging revelation of the interview. (Meghan said revealing the identity would be very damaging, so I think that pretty much limits the possibilities to Charles or William, as no one would be surprised if Phillip said it.)

It may have been both. In the interview with Oprah this morning I don't think she implied it was just 1 person. William says moronic things all the time that get overlooked because the focus is on bashing Harry. Charles is seems dimwitted enough if he were not royal he would not make it in the world and hold down a decent job.

Harry thought it was funny to wear a Nazi uniform and was naked in a Vegas hotel room with strippers.

Yes abd he was drunk in his 20’s. What’s William and Charles’ excuse?
