yes, they did. they just retweeted something saying exactly that. |
I’m perfectly happy to have an agenda of “all kids need to be in school, especially wards 7 and 8.” you’re a fool if you can’t see how WTU is exploiting Wards 7&8 for their own advantage. |
Did you see the part that says “retweets do not equal endorsements” or nah?? I’m looking right at their Twitter. Right now. 10:28 am. There is nothing about not going back after vaccination. NOTHING |
They just retweeted Perry Stein’s article about racial disparities in the reopening plans. I know you need to feel angry and blame someone for the fact that you can’t handle your kids being at home, but it’s stupid to lie about things that we can all easily see are false. |
lol, you are truly grasping. |
this is what they retweeted: https://twitter.com/ChristopherPaix/status/1355588198945222663?s=20 |
Sorry not for a plan the cripples distance learning for 75% |
This has turned twighlight zone crazy. School should open 5 days after teachers fully vaccinated. |
The majority of dcps is black and brown so why are there more white students aceepting seats in person than represent the population that attended dcps? Is that fair? |
how does this plan “cripple distance learning”? In my child’s grade, DL class sizes are going from 20 to 25. Maybe this will force teachers to become better at DL (which they should have been all along.) No more rambling “morning meetings.” |
Jeez you are grasping. Glad you don’t care about getting teachers vaccinated + 2 weeks for full immunity before sending them back into the classroom! |
I’m the poster who said both sides are using them. I agree that all kids need to be in school. But I wouldn’t send my kid back if I didn’t think the school was safe. And it’s paternalistic to think that these families can’t evaluate risk properly. Have you ever been in one of their unrenovated schools? |
the black parents were *given the option* and rejected it. any fairness issues needs to be resolved by convincing them to return, or accepting that in a parental choice environment there may be race differences that are not discriminatory. |
many many ward 7 and 8 schools have been renovated, so that’s a canard. and yes, with the union propaganda, I believe the families don’t have accurate information. or they just assess risk differently- which means the outcome isn’t racist. if you have a policy belief that in person school is better then you need to either convince them to change their risk assessment or compel attendence. If not, then just accept the different racial outcomes are due to choice. |
Pp I’m not a teacher. Why would I encourage kids to get to school ASAP. Also they are doing fine from my perspective virtually? I’m not going to encourage other parents one way or another. That’s their choice. Also we put close, our lids have been cohosted for three years now. There are legitimate building concerns that impact safety. We had several covid cases last week in the building. Parents in our kids school have died from covid. And one kid ended up with misc c last year. I understand why teachers are scared because it’s the same reason I won’t be sending my kid in. Our school isn’t ready. I appreciate the efforts of the WTU but also it is our burden As parents to fight for some these issues. Every school is different. And the wotp schools have built trust and daughter whereas other schools have been relying on bandaids and the sheer energy of the folks working to close the gaps. It won’t be sufficient in this case. A bad reopening could devastate our community. With crappy DL while kids are at home tending to covid + parents with new teachers. Some schools need to go back to the drawing board with their reopening plan. |
