OP here. I never said it did. We have paid for multiple tests out-of-pocket.
I call troll. The out of pocket cost for that test if insurance doesn't cover it is thousands of dollars. No one would do that just to find out the gender a few weeks earlier.
No its not, I paid $100. Under 35. No need for the test other than that I wanted to know the gender. Most OB offices have agreements with a lab.
As a woman who had three HORRIFIC pregnancies and who's husband watched on in pained empathy as I endured months and months of vomiting and needles and physical therapy (ie, therefore someone you would think would be most irked by the 'we' thing) I think the we argument is really dumb. Anyone strenuously making arguments for or against it is being silly, its a turn of phrase.
OP your wife should be fine but is a nervewracking thing to be 16 weeks pregnant with your first even when the world hasn't gone to hell. Just be supportive, and take half the night time wake ups when the baby is born.
