OP here. We did use birth control but she still got pregnant.

Many people get pregnant on birth control. It’s no 100% effective.

I don't beleive that.

It's not a 100% effective, but it's pretty damn effective, the thing is most people aren't using it properly even though they think they. Kind of like the people who claim they wear a mask but the mask they wear doesn't fit properly or they have it hanging off their noses[list].

Are you in finance or law OP? Did you previously have a career in the military? ARe you opposed to nannies and daycare and what your wife to stay home? How do you feel about moving to Texas?

1. Not a form of birth control.
2. How does abstinence prevent pregnancy if you're raped?

I guess the pill isn't birth control either because you can still get pregnant if you are raped even on that.

The pill prevents most pregnancies. Abstinence has a much higher failure rate. Sorry. Like I said, it's not 100% effective.

OP, I know this thread has derailed but very early in the pandemic I was diagnosed with COVID and I was about 14 weeks pregnant. The doctors didn’t have a lot to go on at that point but they assured me that based on similar diseases that it shouldn’t pass he placenta. I was fine and have a healthy four month old now. I was in a study and of almost 200 pregnancies, all moms and babies turned out fine. Tell her to look at the UCSF study. Congratulations!

By the time she has the baby we should be in a much better place pandemic wise. I am struggling to conceive and the pandemic is not high on my list of concerns. You can social distance while pregnant...

It is 100% effective, if you don't have sex you can''t pregnant, a rap is non consenual sexual intercourse, thus no abstinence.

And even with your new argumen t you can't claim the pill as birth conrol because it's not 100% effective.

She's a health care worker so unless she's able to switch to a work at home role she's in a high COVID risk position and won't be able to get the vaccine. I understand her worries. I do hope she is able to enjoy it though, just so in the future she won't look back with regret.

I never claimed something had to be 100% effective to be BC. You claimed abstinence is 100% effective, it is not. For future reference: "consensual","argument", "control".

? If I don't have sex or get raped I am not getting pregnant. If I don't go in the ocean I'm not getting bitten by a shark either. That is 100 percent effective.
