2021 DMV Boys Outlook

At the end of the 20-21 school year the head lacrosse coach at Landon is moving on from teaching coaching and mentoring at Landon. Landon conducted a "National" search for the head basketball coach. They sure as heck will conduct a "National" search for a new head lacrosse coach. I would be willing to bet Landon gets interest from a lot of well qualified people for this position.

For all the talk about SJC and Bullis on this thread, Landon will have a good team in the spring and the cognoscenti know the cupboard is full over there on Wilson Lane. As I have posted before on this thread, The road to the best team in the area goes through Eye St. for the foreseeable future.

Gonzaga has a winning record versus everyone in the area the last ten years.
They beat Bullis the last two years.
God wears purple!

Gonzaga is likely 6-4 Against Landon in the last Decade, at best 7-3, but they are a lot worse over the history of the series. I think the first time GZ ever Beat Landon was in the Early 2000's, and that was one of two victories in that Decade. GZ did better in the 2010's. but it is 2-2 over the last four years.

The fact is, GZ should be the best team in the area - they have 1000 boys.
Bullis has about 200? Landon 340? Prep 440.

GZ is also about half the cost of those other schools, however, you are in a class with twice as many kids.

God is Brown.
He also likely wears Brown, probably with some white accessories - he might have some orange clay on his feet.

So Gonzaga does have a winning record against everyone the last ten years?

Gonzaga “was” a team of the last ten years

I’m pretty sure Gonzaga has gone 500 vs GPrep In the past decade.

If you want to include the years before 2010 or even go back to the 90s, GP has absolutely dominated the series.

Prep, Landon and Gonzaga were the only high schools in the DC who invested in lacrosse pre 2010.
Bullis entered the picture around then and has is one of the best teams in the area...a couple of other programs who are now included in lacrosse elite conversation.

You must new to the area.

DeMatha was a DC area power in the mid 90's and even in the early 2000's. They really owned the WCAC for nearly two decades. Gonzaga actually fielded some competitive teams in the 90's but really could never get over the hump before Casey O'neil arrived.

No one cares about WCAC lacrosse. Gonzaga runs the show.

I've always thought the road to the WCAC title has always run through Gonzaga. The rise of SJC in the past 3 years since Wes Speaks arrived has made the WCAC more interesting to follow. for almost the past decade, Gonzaga hasn't really faced stiff competition from their own league other than from Paul VI. Good to see SJC continuing to rise under speaks as it would be good for the area if the WCAC had stronger overall competition.

Switching gears over to the IAC, It's going to be very interesting to see who Landon hires for the Spring of 2022. I would imagine the position will naturally attract well qualified applicants.
