Arlington has always put in its top teams with the exception of the U15 team which was previously DA and therefore not permitted to enter by DA rules. They have usually done well with multiple teams reaching the finals, but I think this is the best they have done within my memory.

The finals were all competitive and well fought - and I am sure that Legacy and Skyline are happy that Arlington entered its top teams to make the games meaningful contests. I very much hope that we see Richmond and VDA enter next year as well.

So does everyone else! That's what State Cup is, the 'A' Team tournament, that leads to Regional play and the chance for a National Title. It is the top tournament in the country. Sorry, you club didn't feel competitive enough to enter.

Nope. These were all first teams in the finals. There were two or three clubs which kept their A teams out, but - with the exception of Richmond - Arlington demosntrated across-the-board superiority to those teams in league play anyway.

And it was very evident that Legacy and Skyline were significantly better teams than either Loudoun or BRYC for example.

President’s Cup is designed to be a level down from State Cup. Like the NIT of youth soccer.
