Based on the current crime/murder rate I'd say life with the MPD isn't that great anyways.

True but it can and will get worse. Imagine that.

With appropriate social programs it can and will get better. Imagine that.

You don’t think DC has thrown money at the issue?

Agreed. I think these must be young people who weren't here for the Marion Barry "let's hire everyone" schemes.

I've met people who were positively impacted by Marion Barry's programs. As in, they were headed down a path of crime at a young age but now have steady careers. You should try meeting people outside your bubble. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Well, this sucks. Crime’s about ready to hit a big increase. Then in a couple years when business and tourism are low no one will blame her or blame this decision.

OP (And to everyone chiming in)

Did you even bother to read the budget line items where the 15 million was cut from ???

I’ll wait.

Clickbait at it’s FINEST.

If you want to ACTUALLY read about where the 15 million cut came from ( which it came from NONE of the police work areas many of you are complaining about) and where it’s being directed to

Linking to a typically lazy copy-and-paste job from Popville isn't any way to win an argument. There's no critical thinking there, just taking Allen's press release verbatim and publishing it.
