And, there is a huge push now among Dems to call for greater density and an end to single family zoning.

Maybe we could try a mix with greater density, significantly reduced poverty, and while we're at it, maybe -no- definitely cut the systemic racism.

Let’s start with vouchers so that poor black kids aren’t trapped in failing schools.

The vouchers don't actually help. The schools aren't necessarily the problem if you don't work on the rest of the systemic racism.

Send a kid to a shitty private school but still lock up his dad for a minor marijuana offense, stop and frisk him repeatedly, discriminate against him when he applies for jobs...

No one is getting locked up for minor weed offenses.

Find a new strawman, because everyone knows that one is BS

Yep. It's a good start to a platform to lose a second consecutive un-loosable election. Can we just get past November before embracing an end to single family zoning?

Good of you to admit that dems can only win when they hide their true agenda and lie about their plans. Because it’s true.

When dems tell the truth, people vote republican.

Please show me evidence of state sanctioned systemic racism. I’ll wait.

Read Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram Kendi and the article The Case for Reparations by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I look forward to your insight from reading these.

So MPD is conspiring to lie?

Also, it's just an example.

So don’t actually do anything to change the system because there will still be individual racists.

Typical.

Exactly the opposite. Solve the systemic issues and then the individual racists won't matter.

People dont realize...this is all just a shell game. Those with money and power have no plan to give any of it up. They virtue signal, put up signs, make statements, etc. But watch. Nothing really is going to change.

The yard sign game is epic this year!

It never occurred to me to put up a yard sign. Because I've never been part "of the problem". People who sign up their house obviously have something to feel guilty about.

Oh, and "white fragileness"? That author is raking in boku bucks. There's money to be made in this, you watch. Like that lady who charges 10 grand to host a dinner at your house, while you cook, and tell you how racist you are.

Too bad a degree in intersectional gender studies isn't going to pay the bills in the next decade.

Allowing parents more choices is a systemic change.

Keeping black and brown poor children trapped in a failing school system until every racist can be identified and reformed is just the usual "pretend to care while actively blocking concrete change".

Uh oh...you sound like a school choice advocate. No room for you on the left.

I read “How to be an AntiRacist” and decided afterwards that nothing else he wrote was worth reading.

When you approach a subject with the preconception that ALL of certain race are racist, and you’re going to show all of them the error of their ways .... then guess what that makes you?

A racist.

If the goal of the book was irony, it succeeded. But irony wasn’t the goal.

I knooow....I just put up an actual political candidate sign. Compared to all the other yards, my yard seems bare!!

The author went through a whole bunch of topics, many times demonstrations where he, how Black self, had racist thought/actions. You completely missed the point.

Anyway, Stamped is a good historical perspective that we should all be aware of.
